Update arriving to devices in next 72 hours. Word from Verizon worker.

Or, you could follow the simple instructions on Reddit and have it now. I did it Saturday night and had no issues. Most important part is to make sure you name the folder for the update file "SoftwareUpdate" and not "Software Update" as the space does make a difference.

I can't post links apparently, so just Google "Do you have a Verizon G3 and want to upgrade to Lollipop right now? Here's how:" and it should be the very first link.

Nah.

You guys first. ;)

But seriously, with all the problems we've heard about I expected them to punt until the 5.0.2 version.

I already did.

And I haven't had a single issue since doing it. The only thing that I don't really like is that notification icons don't appear in the status bar on the lock screen anymore. But that isn't a "bug," its just how lollipop works. I love the new SmartLock option, especially since I recently bought the Zenwatch. Now, the phone is only locked if I wander to far from it.

I assume after the update I'll have to re-disable all the Verizon crapware.

Also, how long did the update take to install?

Anyone else not able to use the voicemail app after updating? It just force closes on me.

I am wary after my N7 bricked running 5.0.2 in Mexico
My G pad 8.3 comes tomorrow so will check out Qshare before I try to update
At least all my stuff now is under warranty
I love living on the bleeding edge ....
:p

I did this update yesterday, No issues yet, Also Got foxfi working, had to clear the data. The boot animation is just the Verizon red splash screen, is it supposed to be different with the LP animation that you see on youtube?

Somehow I can't see Verizon getting rid of the logo on the boot animation...

Decided to take the plunge tonight and follow that steps on reddit. So far so good, the phone feels a ton more snappy

Did you have to root your phone first to get this to work? If you use this update, will you continue to get future updates from Verizon?

No root needed. You are essentially downloading the upgrade and forcing the phone to update. And as I understand it will not hinder any future updates.
