LG G3: Verizon

??? I was at Verizon yesterday and compared my Note 3 to the G3.....no illusions going here, the Note 3 and screen look bigger simply because they are.

Comparing to the crappy Best Buy dummy phone of the Metallic Black and the Verizon Black on the real phone, they are definitely different. The Verizon one is just less-noticeably brushed. Can anyone agree?

Well, personally I prefer a phone without carrier branding because I purchase my phones outright without a contract so I can switch carriers anytime I want. But I do get why ppl don't like it. Its actually 2 logos (front and back) whereas most carriers just have one. Imo it's too "in your face" like when their logos were on the home buttons of Samsung phones. Lol.

Yeah but most on Verizon should be used to it by now. Verizon doesn't want you to forget you're on their amazing network .

The Note 3's screen is 5.7" and the G3 is 5.5". The Note 3 should appear larger.

Maybe it's that new car smell, but I am more elated about the G3 than I have any other smart phone, with the exception of my first. It has, so far, met all my needs for the perfect 'phone'; Best signal strength, great camera, long battery (and removable!), lightweight and killer screen for my aging eyesight. I've easily disabled some of the bloat and could not be happier.

As of now I still can't justify using my upgrade on the G3. The changes Verizon made going with the all black front and putting their logo on top to me take away a lot from the overall look of the phone. It makes it look almost cheap. Someone please change my mind. And yes I have seen it in person multiple times

Well. I'm wondering if there's a way to remove all the Verizon branding. It is printed onto the plastic. Not sure if anyone has tried and know what the best techniques are.

For example, on one of my G Shocks. I use just a little nail polish remover and a Q-tip to get rid of some of the printing on the plastic. And that works. Different type of plastic though on G Shocks so I wouldn't recommend using nail polish remover on an LG.

You would have to buy replacement parts from a place, disassemble the unit, replace, and put back together. Because the branding is under the glass.

I may test out Verizon's 14 day return policy. I leave for Vacation the 23rd for 10 days. So I will probably pick it up the day before the trip bring it with test it out and see how I like it. Have any of you tried the whole return thing? Once I use my upgrade and if I don't like the G3 would I have to pick another phone when I go back in or can my upgrade just go back to normal?

It's a good program; as long as the phone is in similar condition as when you picked it up you will be fine (as well as paying their $35 restocking fee). They will reverse the upgrade, etc. and you will be where you were before you bought it.

Has anyone extensively tried/tested the GPS on the LG G3? I travel A LOT for my job, and I use Google Maps for navigation often. The one problem I have with my current phone (Samsung Galaxy S3) is that it will not hold/pick up a strong GPS signal. Apparently it's a common problem with the Galaxy S3. I have tried all of the common (and unlikely) fixes, including tightening all internal screws, etc...but nothing seems to work. I am due for an upgrade, and the LG G3 has been on my radar for quite some time. Anyone have any input on their experience with GPS/Navigation on the LG G3 yet?

I think if you have a Note 3, you should wait for the 4 or for something new. That's a lot of money for an incremental upgrade. I'm coming from a Droid RAZR Maxx and I know I'll be floored.
