LG G3: Verizon

That 50% off 2yr contracts ended today but it was any phone ... There was no restrictions.

Couple things.

Were you in a corporate location --- Not a authorized agent. Authorized agents try to sell used phones over new ones cause they make more money from the sale. Just a way of life for those stores.

If you ever feel the rep is hiding something from you - Ask for a manager. If you really think there just trying to dodge you in store because you've either said you aren't buying accessories or your an alternate upgrade (Cause the reps don't get paid on Alternate upgrades and it hurts the rep to sell a naked device) ask them to ring it up and show you the 2yr pricing.

The computer won't lie. I work for Verizon and it drives me crazy when reps are lazy. It takes more time to dodge you than it does just to grab the phone out of the back and ring it up. Verizon reps walk on egg shells cause they make you think your expendable at any time if your not selling $300 in accessories per phone.

If you are an actual Verizon rep then you should be professional enough to know it's against corporate policy to say authorized retailers sell used phone and could actually get you fired if you tell customers that. Secondly I worked for an authorized retailer. And every device we sold that was a resell was marked as certified preowned or open box resell, and was paid out zero commission because Verizon won't pay commission twice on the same meid.

Authorized agents are allowed to sell "Certified Pre-Owned" devices on 2year agreements. There are a shady agents that sell out the back door. It happens everyday. I'm not slamming authorized agents. There are great locations, and then there are not. Just like there are good reps and there aren't. I've had to deal w/ my fair share of escalations because of them. I have friends that work at them and others that have left to work at the corporate stores around us. To you, as the rep, don't make a commission, but the store does.

And I'm not spilling any corporate secrets here. It's common knowledge.

Finally pulled the trigger and bought the new G 3 this weekend. What a great phone. And what a great deal. Best buy price matched Amazon and gave us $60 for our old s3 so basically the phone was free plus the cost of a screen protector. After 3 days I am loving my new phone. Seems to be working great with awesome battery life compared to my old s3.. Still getting used to the UI and may keep it rather than use Nova prime.

how to change the wallpaper on it, it's just my first android?

Press and hold an empty space on your home screen, you'll see three tabs pop up on the bottom where you can add shortcuts or widgets, or change wallpaper

Check your phone for a software update if you haven't already. This morning I received the latest update. The size was 197.5 MB. No change in the Build Number LRX21Y but different Software Version VS98524B and Security Software Version MDF v1.1 Release 3. It seems users are reporting their Wi-Fi notification issues have been fixed - although I resolved mine shortly after Lollipop was released. My G3 continues to perform well without any issues.

How long have you had your LG G3? I'm looking into purchasing one now and am interested in longtime users' opinions.

I had my G3 for about 14 months and really liked it. I upgraded to the Note 5 just because I wanted to, but I definitely didn't need to. The G3 was great for me. I imagine it would be a good value for you now.

my g3 just died yesterday. there seems to be no fix. won't boot. tried new battery. tried plugged in. no use. makes me sad. g3 was a great phone. built like a tank. my toddler dropped a number of occasions with nary a scratch.

so it goes.

rip g3.

I got another update this morning...a minor one. Software version 47A. The size was 78.7 Megabytes.

Anyone know what 47A covers??? I just got the update and have been curious if they would ever fix the SD card issues. The reason I ask is after I updated I tried to see system update online thru Verizon and it says Page Not found. I'll chip in for the tractor, so Verizon can pull its head out......................

Provides faster display response from a sleep state, and the latest Android security updates.
