LG G3 with Poor Reception

I certainly understand your frustration but I will never understand these short sighted, attention seeking threads. Why not take it to the store and see if the phone is defective first before throwing a hissyfit on the internet?

Good luck getting the issue resolved.

Maybe a tower was down? Cellular service isn't always reliable and more now since so many improvements are being completed.

While this may not be directly related, I have been having some mobile network issues with my new G3. A number of times recently I have pulled my phone out of my pocket to find it with no cellular connection at all or no mobile data connection. Forcing Airplane Mode and mobile data connectivity on and off doesn't seem to fix things. This has also happened when turning the phone on. Anyone else experiencing this?

Yep, my signal strength is all over the place, returning mine today as it just keeps dropping connectivity. I am also in the UK using Three UK network

I was going to Blackhawk, CO from Denver and through the mountains, I had full 4VZW 4G yet my ATT I phone had no signal.

Sent from my VZW LG G3 (tapatalk)

Living in a major metropolitan area of 5000 in rural southern Illinois, with major mecas of 500 within 15 to 30 miles (as the crow flies) I have an excellent signal. Data wise and phone wise my G3 is on par or better than any phone I have had.

I've had a G3 (LG-D855, V10g-EUR-XX) for over a month now (so out of time to take it back for a refund).

Around my house the signal is poor to non-existent (on T-Mobile/EE), but as I connect via WiFi, I am not too bothered. I had thought that the signal was worse than my old Galaxy S3, but I hadn't bothered to investigate, until this weekend.

On a lad's weekend away in Edinburgh, the G3 was useless. It kept dropping the signal even in public places in the centre of a city. In buildings, there was often no signal at all. I'm not talking about 4G/3G here, I'm talking about basic calls & texting.

I've compared the signal strength of my Samsung S3 vs the LG G3, and it's >10dBm (-93 for the S3, -107 for the G3).

Yes, that is exactly my experience too. I returned mine just in time and after extensive testing they gave me a full refund. It just wasn't usable where I live and compared to an iPhone 4S it was chalk and cheese.

I've think I've got to the bottom of the problem with my reception.

I got two free 3 sims, and put one into my G3 and my old Samsung Galaxy 3. The reception on both was virtually the same, until the signal got below EDGE (2G). The Galaxy would continue to receive a phone signal, but the G3 just gives up.

It would seem to be a problem with the 2G reception.

Ok, Woodinville is literally right next door to the AT&T headquarters in Bothell, WA and I've spent much time there - they always have 5 bars in that whole area, so I agree with you. I'm having the same issue - I'm in Portland and can literally see the cell tower from my living room, always had 5 bars with my iPhone and now have 2-3 and calls dropping.

It's so frustrating, because I love the phone otherwise, but I have to do a fair amount of talking and can't deal with this many dropped calls.

I am sitting here in Woodinville, Wa. Major city. Going from 4g to 3g to 1x to no network available. Not moving. Restart phone. Same thing. Returning it tomorrow.

I've had this problem since day on and seems to get worse the longer I have the phone. With life being busy I'm past my we day return with att and they are trying everythi g possible not to let me change to a different brand of phone. Going tomorrow to try new SIM card at their store and if that doesn't work they'll explor other options. Already had a case opened and nothing being resulted and now having me do this.

Attached told me this is a problem that game from Google update. Said att should have the New update on first of the mo th and Will fix this problem. Warranty is sendi g me a "new" refurbished g3 to fix my issue. Also told me they changed companies not sure for what but can no longer offer me a different brand of phone even with all these problems I've had. Can only offer the g3 replacement. Hopefully it'll be fixed after I get the New g3 and if not who knows what they'll do next. Will update after I get the replacement within the next 6 days.

Switching network mode from 2G/3G/4G to 2G/3G worked for me to get rid of the SW related connection drops and the hangs during carrier search. My phone has still a rather bad reception by hardware, but it's pritty painless as long as the SW (firmware?) bugs are not triggered.
