When viewing dark screens (such as black or grey) you can clearly see a lighter portion of the screen extending apx. 1/8in. off of the left and right sides. When pulling down the notification bar all of the status information can still be seen burned into the screen. What should I do? This device was sent into LG for the logic board defect about 3 weeks ago and now it's been nothing but problems.

Welcome to Android Central!
Well this problem persists even in the G5.
Take a look at this.

At the middle of the clip Erica Griffin shows that G5 has a backlight leakage. It's not just your phone,it's the LG quality. I feel sorry for you, when i took a look at G4 and G5 i tought they were very good. The specs aren't all.
Best regards,Mikey. I hope you found what you were looking for.

I appreciate your answer but I don't understand how all of this just appeared today, what could cause that?
This is the build quality of LG. There's nothing you can do about. In broad daylight you can't see it,but in low light its wasy to see.
If you press on the screen you'll see that it's not very good laminated and it'll bend until you press on the lcd. (Btw don't do that).
There's nothing you can do about it.
