Actually new to the forum, but I've found solutions on here for older handsets in the past, but i never signed up :-\

Basically on my LG G4 a grey bar appears when unlocking the screen. It happens every 1 in 5 times.

I go to unlock the screen and on my home screen theres a grey bar that builds up like a "loading bar" only halfway down the screen. (Screenshot below) To get rid of it i have to press the return button and then its gone, I've looked to see if any apps were open but nothing. Done a software reset and done the latest update to 5.1 the other day still happens.

I've searched the forum and i can't see anyone with the same thing, unless I'm searching the wrong thing!

anyone come across this ? any help?

Oh and its a UK handset.....

Re: LG G4 - Grey bar appears when unlocking the screen.....?!

Welcome to the forums!

I'm not sure what that would be. You can definitely see the shade differences between the top and bottom portions of the device (aside from the bar). Does it stay on screen for a second or two? I'd suggest a reboot (if you haven't already done that) or clear the cache and see if either of those options helps.

The grey shade builds up like a bar, completing a row at a time and then gradually going down to the half way mark ( hope that makes sense!) if u look carefully u can see that it stops half way above the twitter logo, ill try and get a screenshot on a white background it make look clearer to some. It doesn't go unless i press the return button. Cleared cache and 2 software resets later and its not gone.

It almost looks like something is going weird with the pull down notification shade. I tried it on my phone and it almost lines up to the middle of the screen and your notifications and clock are gone from the notification bar at the top which is what happens when you pull down the shade.

Now why it would be doing this, I have no idea.

Have you tried Safe Mode? I found on my G3 that a launcher I downloaded and used for a while caused some trouble, which disappeared in Safe Mode, pointing to it as being the cause.
