Apparently, with the screen off, you can slide your finger down from the top to about halfway and you will see the time and the status bar. I cannot get this to work. Does it work for you guys? Is there a setting to enable the feature? Thanks.

It works on my T-mobile variant. The LED light will blink blue and the time and date will show. Pretty cool.

EDIT: Don't believe there is a setting for it. Should just work.

It took me 2 days to figure it out...and I did it by accident. I thought something was wrong with my phone.

You have to press and hold in the upper 50% of your screen; your LED should turn blue. Then slowly drag your finger down and it should reveal battery life, date, time, etc. When you let go, the notification will go away.

I can't get mine to work 😥 Verizon g4 without a Lock screen but screen is off

I believe it has been left out of the AT&T model, cuz it doesn't work on mine either.

You won't be able to do it; we've discussed it in about three threads here already :-( Our AT&T versions won't seem to do it.

Those who can't do it, do you have security of some sort enabled (passcode, pattern, etc...)?

Yes, knock code, but it's unlocked via smart lock... But I'm also on att so it apparently won't work regardless

That's a weird one for AT&T to get rid of since it's intent is to save you battery by checking notifications this way rather than waking up the entire screen.

Verizon got rid of blocking calls... anything's game for these carriers! lol!
But I'd love to be proven wrong on this one.

I do have Knock Code enabled, but like thehoz, mine is currently unlocked with Smart Lock (trusted device)

Personally, I think it's kind of a useless feature. It's more useful, in my opinion, to just tap the screen to see the time as well as your notifications.
