LG G4 - Models and Cellular Frequencies

Thanks Brett
Are the bands on the box the same as those listed at the top of this post? I use LTE Discovery on my G2 and it shows I need LTE 2 and 17 but there are several places I only get HSPA+. Which ebay seller did you go through? Any US customs fees added to shipping if you bought from the seller in Singapore? Any issues with the seller?

These are the bands:
H815 LTE-A (LG P1) International (UK)
2G 850, 900, 1800, 1900MHz
3G HSDPA 850, 900, 1900, 2100 MHz
LTE: 1, 2, 3 ,4 ,5 ,7 ,8 ,17 ,20 ,28

I am fairly sure it was someone selling a review unit, though I can't recall the seller name and he does not seem to be selling anymore right now... Sorry (I actually ended up completing the purchase outside ebay...). He was a US seller based in NJ so no customs fees. All the stickers were still on the device. I've been using it half a day and have confirmed it also works on LTE band 17 (that makes 2 and 17 now). The last band that ATT uses is band 7 (1700) which this phone also receives.
It also seems to rapid charge with my Motorola Turbo Charger but did NOT ship with a turbo charger. So far its amazing!!

The bands as shown on the box. I'm using this version in the UK on the 3 network, which does not use GSM/2G.

Great news. I'm looking to pick up this global version as well. Glad to see it will work well on AT&T.

Brett, thanks a lot for confirming the H815 can indeed work on AT&T network. I am using Cricket and I'm torn about what to do. On the one hand, the US AT&T Version bought unactivated through a retailer like Best Buy provides 1) Free Extra Battery, Charger, and SD Card from LG 2) A $100 gift card from Best Buy 3) No worries about the US based warranty.

On the other hand, the H815 doesn't have the copious amounts of AT&T bloatware and I think I could tether with the international version. Have you tried tethering with it? I tried the AT&T Samsung S6 (didn't keep it because the battery life) on Cricket and couldn't tether, which is a major pain because I use tethering for work.

So I am trying to decide between the US Version with about $200 in freebies, which I would then need to root when the root comes out in order to tether or just buying the International Version for the steeper price (if indeed I can tether on it without the limitations built into the US versions). The best priced international version is from Tropical Mobile for about $650 (for leather back), unless someone has seen something else?

Any thoughts? Thanks!

In checking out the AT&T vs the Verizon version and cell frequencies they look very similar. Can a unlocked VZ LG G4 work on ATT?

Yes, on ebay they are selling the H815T and calling it the H815. I am on cricket - how much will it hurt reception of 4G to not have the 4G band 2(1900)? I know AT&T uses it, but uses 17 (700) more?

I found this general advice elsewhere, I might not be quite current but seems good.

AT&T: main deployment in band 17, adding bands 2, 4, and 5 where needed, future deployments in bands 29 and 30

T-Mobile: main deployment in band 4, adding band 2, then band 12 where available

My international Z3c has 2,4,5,17 and I've never had a problem on AT&T that I can tell but that 29,30 concern me a bit especially when the AT&T version has 30.

I guess worst case it drops back to HSPA+.

Att has no band 12 specific spectrum (outside of band 17)so not really needed.

According to Spectrum Gateway's Omega Map that AT&T owns 700 Mhz Band 12 Block A in South Carolina in the Myrtle Beach area. Just click on the first band on the right side table and look at the blue AT&T in South Carolina.

I think this is part of AT&T's promise to the FCC to support and use Band 12 block A to resolve the " interoperability issue" I would post a news story link but I got a warning on this board plus issued points for copy pasting the words of of T-Mobile CFO Nevile Ray and the CCO and posting a story link on the T-Mobile page. Just do a Goggle seach for "AT&T interoperability 700Mhz" to find proof.

Anyone know of a map that shows which AT&T bands are deployed where in the US?

In my little corner of the world (SC) I'm having no trouble with the H815 on AT&T, every time I check it's using 17.

For H811 on AT&T, is the missing Band 17 a fatal flaw ? T-Mobile G4's seem to be selling substantially cheaper than other models both used and new but AT&T is the only good network in my neighborhood.

17 is what att deploys everywhere except where they can't. Don't do it.
