That aperture is even wider than the one on my Sony a6000 mirrorless.

I also have a Sony mirrorless (a5000, so not as cool as yours! But I got a great deal...) which has gone unused for a while. It's fascinating what cameras we are able to compare with the G4's. Exciting times.

I haven't used my a6000 in a while since I got the G4. It's extremely capable, but obviously not on the very same level as a professional-grade camera.

There are plenty of a6000 compatible lenses at f1.8 I have several. Also, there are even faster lenses available. And really f1.8 on a APSC sensor is not equivalent to the 1.8 on the LG with respect to depth of field. If you listen to Tony Northrup it isn't even equivalent for exposure purposes, but his reasoning is pretty convoluted.

First day I really took my G4 with me full time and put it to the test. Mainly snapped stuff in simple mode today. Was impressed all day while using the camera but I see a few mixed results now viewing the pix on my PC.

An awesome spider in my front yard bushes. Manual Mode, Shutter set to 500, ISO 200, Manual Focus (of course hahaha). Used Snapseed to highlight the spider, as the background was too busy.

My first attempt at Manual Mode for any picture-taking device, ever.

Not sure if I'm cut out for manual, but the camera overall (among other features) definitely has me leaning to keeping the device and relegating my beloved Moto X 2014 to backup status.
