LG G4 : Pictures !

Well talking about Astrophotography, i just arrive at home and i think i capture some cool stars. I tried use Sky map from store but from what i see on the sky i cant see any constellation i recognize from the app. if anyone know any stars on this 2 photos i took plz tell :P

Ps: Im from Portugal (around Porto)

The one in the bottom with the the bright stars is Orion (those three specific ones are his belt and about all I know). So a look at star chats with that constellation should help you.

I call this one, "Sunrise from the Western Star." Western Star being the brand of semi I drive. Lol.

Shot with RAW, then manually edited in Snapseed. One of my fist attempts at RAW and fairly pleased with the results compared to the automated jpeg.

More RAW experiments. Was burning cardboard in the wooden stove. Taken on JPEG + RAW, the first is the original jpeg, the second is after editing the associated RAW file.

Ofc the raw wins lol
After get a phone with good camera and raw option with lightroom edit, I will never change or buy other phone in future without it for sure.

Just got back from a few days holiday today and got to experimenting with long exposures on the G4. I don't have a ND filter yet so I borrowed a welding mask glass insert off my dad and tested it on some daytime long exposures below.

2015 - 1.jpg
Had to colour correct this first one a fair bit and its not great still but I'm ecstatic with the result. This was a 4 second exposure.

2015 - 2.jpg
This one had many colour issues so I turned it to black and white instead. This was a 8 second exposure.

This experience has meant I purchased a Hoya circular ND filter today, which I can use on my Fuji but also tape onto my LG when needed. With a proper ND filter on this thing I'm looking forward to seeing what else the LG is capable of.

Anyone ever try one of those camera telephoto lens adaptors? This is the first phone ever I've seriously considered the option and not sure about their quality. I'm not expecting full DSLR quality, but I think it could be something fun to play around with.

Got a little more creative here. Lighting wasn't the greatest because of the time and had to crop out the interstate between me and the factory, but I think it still works well. The Pierce factory's Veteran's Day display, edited with some blur and vignette effects in addition to coloring. My goal was to make the flags pop out more from everything else.

I may see some night sky photography in my future. 30 second exposure at ISO 50. The original image didn't look too good, being noticeably brighter in the center vs the sides, plus having a blue tint that may have simply been from background city lights. Edited with Snapseed to drop the shadow levels to -100 to blacken the sky and make the stars stand out more.

A little better one. Taken with ISO 400. I almost tossed the original, but some extra work brought out the stars. You can still see some of the brightness balance issue in the center, but I like the slightly nebulous look it gives the picture.

Ahhh haaa I figured since I tried using your same settings and every picture no matter how still I tried holding the phone came out blurry, lol! Your pictures look amazingly crisp/clean/noise free on my screen here at work! Thanks for sharing! :)
