LG G4 screen during calls problem

Hey, during calls I can't open and use my phone. I have to wait until the other person hangs up and it's extremely annoying. My screen goes black and I just can't use it during calls. Anyone got an idea why?

Place the phone in your hand as if your were texting on it and tap the screen once. It will show up.

1st thing to check is whether your screen is scrupulously clean around the proximity sensor and or you don't have a screen protector going manky.

If all ok, try pressing around the edge of the screen to check whether the bonding has failed. If so, you either have to live with it or get phone repaired.

I have this same problem off and on. Even after cleaning the phone up I just hope it doesn't crap out after my warranty is gone grr!
