LG G4 Stuck on boot, how can I get it out of it?

Re: LG G4 Stuck on boot

Took it to T-mobile and they ordered a new one (luckily I had their Jump insurance). Hoping to receive the new one in a day, since its showing as UPS next day shipping. Fingers crossed.

Thanks to everyone who tried to help, but it seems like there isn't a solution at this point. Phone is officially bricked...
I was really hoping you had an answer because mine is doing the same exact thing:/

Mine went to lg life's good logo and stayed there. No response from buttons or screen. Didn't cycle on an off though.
Held power button for around 20 seconds, booted up again but went back to normal operation.

Re: LG G4 Stuck on boot, how can I get it out of if?

Verizon is now covering the LG4 phones that demonstrate the boot loop problem, even if it out of the 1 year manufacturer warrenty. Mine died on Thurs June 23 at work in the middle of a phone call, and I have had the phone 16 months. After trying everything recommended in the forums Thurs evening, I found the online petition that LG's response. I took the phone back to Verizon Sat June 25, 2016. Verizon looked up a technical bulleting issued on the LG 4's that list of serial numbers affected with the boot loop problem, confirmed that my phone's serial number was covered(serial no starts with 505 through 508), and promptly ordered me a new one to be shipped to my house this evening. I am to ship the old phone back in the return envelope. No fee's and no hassel. Make sure you tell the Verizon employee you deal with to look up a tech bulletin issued by LG on the LG 4. They need to reference that tech bulletin in order to exchange your phone.

I don't know how they can only cover serial numbers in a certain range because my phone was outside that range (511) and it still had this problem. I will be getting it back from LG tomorrow and it appears that they replaced the motherboard (the repair order said bent). I would have liked to get a new phone sent to me rather than waiting 10 days for my phone to be repaired. Hopefully my phone is as good as new when I get it back. Thankfully I have a recent backup of all my data and apps so I should be back in working order in no time after FedEx delivers it tomorrow.

Re: LG G4 Stuck on boot, how can I get it out of if?

Can I get that email address for LG please. I have same problem with my g4 and would like it replaced. Thanks.

Mine died tonight as well. Launch day G4 on Verizon with a 505 serial. LG said I'd have to send mine in and wait 10 days. I called Verizon and told them, they are over nighting me a refurbished g4. I lost all photos and things not backed up. I blame it on pokemon go as I've been doing that heavily and the phones been getting hot. :) everyone please backup your precious stuff (pics, txts, etc). It will happen to you. Thinking of selling it off and getting a note 4.

My boot loop issue started 10 July. Went to Verizon last night. Guy at the store was awesome help. However, we got on the phone with tech support and then customer service. Supposedly I was talking to the "manager" and "highest person there". He said that due to the LG G4 being out of stock, they would provide me with a COMPARABLE model of the Samsung S5. He said it's based on RAM, memory, etc. WTF!!!!! Not only is the S5 older, but it's not even comparable on specs. It's more comparable to the LG G3. I asked about the Samsung S6 or iPhone 6S, which came out before the G4. Got told NO. I asked about canceling the contract on the G4 and I would buy a brand new phone and starting a new contract. Got told NO.

So, to sum up the story, I said I would wait until Thursday for them to call me to see if they get a G4 in. Screw that!! I went home and found all the spec for the LG G3, G4, G5; Samsung S5, S6, S7; & iPhone 5S, 6, 6S. I'm going back tonight. Guy at the store said he would make it his personal mission to help me not get screw over by them.

I'll post how it works out later. Good luck to everyone else out there with this issue too.

Received replacement today. Serial is a 505 so I'm afraid I'm going to have same issue. It is getting hot just downloading apps and getting everything set back up. Will give it a couple days

My conversation with Verizon was similar, I could get an S5 instead since they had no G4s. I opted to just send my phone to LG for repair as my phone has a 511 serial number and I have only had it since January 26th. I have it back now and everything seems to be good though who knows. It was upgraded to 6.0 while it was being repaired so now it seems to get very warm while charging sometimes but otherwise, no significant problems. I was told by a friend that manages one of the corporate Verizon stores near me that Verizon isn't selling the G4 anymore so I would guess that they will not have any stock to replace your phone with. My boot loop problem happened back on 6/19 and they had no stock then so I don't think a couple more days this week will matter. I hope you get a good result to your situation though!

So here's my "resolution". Same guy at Verizon store helped me. He did most of the talking for me! He talked with the manager at customer service, different guy, go figure. Explained to him my issue and the previous solution, as mentioned above. In the end, MIRACULOUSLY, they found a LG G4 to send me. "The system probably wasn't updated to reflect any in stock when you called yesterday." SSSUUURRREEE!!! Where the hell they pulled it out of their ***, I would really like to know.
Anyway, they are sending me a refurbished G4 that supposedly doesn't have the boot loop issue. We'll see how long that lasts.

This happened to me as well phone was idle picked it up and it was rebooting I waited but nothing it is stuck on the LG screen and I have to pull the battery to get it off and then I try again and get nothing. Seems LG may have put out a bad update last night as a friend is having the same on his LG G4 mine is the LG G3

I am sad and heart broken to report that as of 6pm last night......my international unlocked LG G4 that was given to me by the great people at Android Central died yesterday. I was on my ComiCat app reading Totally Awesome Hulk #3 and it just turned off. I tried to turn in back on but it just got stuck on the boot screen. I'm going to contact LG and find out what they can do for me. If they can't help me, then I will unfortunately take my business back to Samsung. LG should own up to these faulty devices. It demonstrates to me that they've cut corners by using cheap internals that don't last long. My brother with a V10 just got a faulty aux port as of yesterday as well. They need to get their quality in check.

I just got my T-mobile 505 G4 back today. Lg covered the repair, despite being out of warranty by a month

Well.. add me to the list. My 1 year and two week old G4 went into the bootloop last night and is stuck on the boot screen. To add to my misery, my homes airconditioning system also died yesterday...

Off to the local Verizon store...

Two in the same day?! The hits just keep on coming.

The G5 has been smooth sailing, so far. Here's hoping. This year I'm getting a Nexus in the fall.

Spent about 45 mins on the phone this morning with Verizon support and they are fedexing me a refurbished G4. Hopefully this one will work as good as my previous one minus the boot loop of course. And hopefully it will look as good as it did too... not a scratch or blemish on it.

This occurred on my LG G4 and the fix for me was the following:
1. Turn off the device.
2. Remove the battery.
3. Remove the SIM card.
4. Insert the battery.
5. Turn on the phone (On my phone, it booted to my home screen with the message No Sim Card Inserted).
6. Turn off the phone
7. Remove the battery.
8. Insert the SIM card
9. Insert the battery
10. Turn on the phone.
My phone came back on and booted to my home screen and appears to be working now. I have no idea why this occurred originally. Hope this info is helpful.

Nope. Doesn't work. Good luck with yours as I fear your fix might only be temporary.

Well, mine bootlooped yesterday. Wouldn't go into recovery. Was just listening to a podcast, podcast audio stopped, phone spontaneously rebooted, and wouldn't go past the LG Life's Good Powered by Android screen. Verizon replacement arriving today. Life's currently not good but hopefully tomorrow. BTW, the no SIM powerup didn't work for me.

For those of you that have sent your G4 back to LG, how fast do they turn it around?

It looks like mine was received, repaired (?), and sent back to me on the same day.
