LG G4 Stuck on boot, how can I get it out of it?

According to the tracking # they have received mine now, I mailed it on the 23rd. Hoping they send it back soon. Is there anyway I can check that progress?

LG fixed made the repair and shipped it back to me on the same day they received it. If you include shipping time, I was without the phone for about 1 1/2 weeks. They'll email you when it ships. The package will require a signature, so make sure you're home that day. :)

Has anyone been able to get pictures off there phone once this happened? got me last night. second time this has happened, well months ago the phone randomly erased my sd card. I hadn't got a new sd card yet and then this happened. fml

If you go to the website you can track the progress of your repair with your repair order number. Mine was received by them according to the shipping tracking number but they didn't report it received until 3 days later, but did get fixed and return shipped back to me within about 5 hours. Not sure how accurate the timing on the website was but I have my phone back and seems to be fine now.

Apparently I won't get mine back until Wednesday, that will make 2 weeks in total. This is a bit ridiculous.

Yeah, I have a feeling it's basically rigged to do this. Me and my mom both got the LG G4 two days apart. Mine did this exact same thing two months ago, hers just did it today. LG Refused to repair mine because I had a few bruises on the edges of my phone, which apparently cost 200$ to fix [language clean up]. They have this stupid rule which basically states "We can't fix the thing that's not even letting you use your phone unless we fix everything else which you may not even want fixed or care about being fixed." and since the little bruises are my fault, they won't fix my phone, even though it was their fault in the first place that I can't even use my phone. They didn't even give my phone back, just dumped it. Ended up going to Customer Relations and since I've been with Rogers for 10 years they gave me a new LG G4.

It'll probably break in like 10 months again anyways. Kinda regretting getting this stupid phone in the first place. Yeah, sure, it's great, but if it's gonna break every 10 months and force to me to wait like 2 months (or pay 200$ for a phone that cost me 0$ to get in the first place; plus bonus points since I've been paying for their warranty since day 1) just to get a new one back, I'll pass. Won't be getting this phone again. LG's Terrible.

Google Photos will backup your photos automatically. You can then access your photos from any connected device.

If you have automatic backup on. I do believe it's on by default, so that's good. You do have to turn it on with specific folders though. Camera photos are backed up automatically I believe.

I did not buy my G4 through a carrier. It is the T-Mobile US (H811) version though. How did you contact LG? The link to the LG Mobile Repair site requires proof of purchase. Should the Swappa information suffice?

I bought mine 2nd hand also. I called their toll-free customer service number and they processed the RMA without proof of purchase, based solely on the mfg date of the phone (which was ~15mos...over their 12mo warranty, which they pointed out).

VZW was no help at all of course. Out of warranty, pay your Assurion deductable, and we'll send you a replacement that may very well also have a faulty board.

All in all, a very pleasant experience actually. They replace the motherboard, not repair, so the phone will come back to you bone-stock and anything not backed up or saved to external SD will be lost. Hopefully it is a permanent fix.

I bought my phone 14 months ago, and haven't had a single issue. Then today....just a screen telling me Life's Good. No it isn't! I've shipped it off to LG. Hopefully I don't get charged since it's 2 months out of warranty.

just got off the horn with LG. they told me its still under warranty hooray! but they wont send me a loaner. So they said to contact telus. they will take it and send it out and i will get a free loaner.

one thing the tech suggested to try is. pull battery, hold the down volume button and the power button, once the phone turns on, while holding the volume down button , let go of the power for a second then depress it again. a factory reset screen will come up. follow the instructions. if the little android guy doesnt pop up????? your beat! send it in to you service provider.

Re: LG G4 Stuck on boot (sometimes loads up but freezes no matter what the phone is doing)

Within minutes of having music on in the car, and a phone call, i parked up at my house, and by the time i was inside the phone was off. When my G4 is off (after shutting itself down) it will not power back up i have to remove battery first. It can then get stuck in the boot loop or if it doesnt it acts normal but freezes within minutes of turning on so i dont have time to try anything substantial.. Had the phone just over a year and only last week all accounting and syncing would not work so i made a backup and restored the phone. Which was fine for a few days til this...
I managed to get it to boot in safe mode, which lasted barely 20 seconds hahabut cant access the boot menu to delete caches etc I darent do a factory reset incase it dies and really does do some harm
Also, a neat little feature, if the phone is OFF, and i try to charge it it will randomly turn itself on
And if phone is on whilst charging it will still turn off and still refuse to charge at all
INFURIATING... Gonna be taking to carphone warehouse (UK) to see what they make of it

Just happened to my wife's 10-month old LG G4 on Monday while on vacation. I went to T-Mobile today and the CSR said he knew of the issue and they would easily swap it out; however, when he looked at the phone in more detail, he realized the phone had sustained water damage, therefore, his hands were tied. The phone did get wet six months ago, but it was very brief and the phone worked with no issue until now.

My question is will LG honor the warranty for this known issue even though the water damage indicator is pink?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Mine just died - had phone since May 2015 and its been a bit glitchy. It suddenly froze completely and went really hot - took battery out and let it cool down - put battery back in and stuck on the LG life is good start up wih the blue light flashing on and off.

Tried several times of removing battery and restarting with no effect.

Tried factory reset (battery out then back in - volume down button and then power) wouldnt even get to the reboot screen.

Just now tried booting it without my sim card just battery and its brought up a black screen with a white box which says its optimising apps an to leave it on until its finished. Been running like this now for about 5 min and has done 52 out of 64. Am hoping this will resolve the issue but the phone is boiling hot to touch so I am not sure leaving it running is the best idea :/

Listen, there is a solution. If you had auto-sync on before your phone was stuck, you might be able to recover some data. Otherwise your phone will be completely reset. So what you do is you take off the battery and put it back in. Then, instead of starting up your phone normally, you hold down the power button AND the volume-down button. Then when it shows the first part of the booting screen you realease the power button for a bit while still holding down the volume-down button. Then re-press the power button while still pressing down the volume-down button. You then will be taken to the Factory-Reset screen.

Well my phone got stuck in this bootloop earlier.

About 90minutes later it appears to be fine now. Ive gotten ti to turn back on about 3 times since the boot loop started. The last two times I got into my phones home screen it crashed within 5-10 minutes and went back to boot loop. As of now, it appears to be fine though...

For now, will keep you guys updated. I paid 200$ for this phone off of craigslist, it was a Verizon phone, and I have Verizon service. I don't want to have to send it all the way in to LG to get fixed...

If you have Verizon extended warranty on the line then it should be covered regardless. You can add Verizon extended warranty now and it will cover pre existing conditions in certain states since it is open enrollment now.

I had the same problem but switching it off, then pressing volume down and power button at the same time did the trick. Success!

Aother user reported the same experience with post-repair battery drain: http://forums.androidcentral.com/lg-g4/547864-lg-g4-stuck-boot-how-can-i-get-out-post5189045.html#post5189045

I'm waiting for mine to be repaired by LG, they are also charging me for a cracked screen (they said they could not perform the repair without also fixing the screen). Hopefully I don't have the same issue; I will post if it occurs.
Strange, but my phone serial number begins 508KP, I thought it was the 505 and below... And I bought the phone from T-Mobile in Nov 2015.
