Hi!
My wife has an LG Leon G4 with 8Gb internal memory,
and it's not enough.
So, usually a SD card fixes the problem,
but LG has disabled that option as app storage.

So, I need to turn on dev-settings and format SD-card from PC
50% internal, 50% external.

The only problem is: What software do I need to install on my PC to be able to use command prompt for this?

Or, are there better ways?
Rooting?

Hey there! :)

You probably already know this, but it bears repeating that if you end up rooting, you will void your ability to get warranty-related servicing from the carrier and manufacturer for the phone unless you're able to wipe out any and all evidence of rooting.

I'm on T-Mobile and I have a family member who had a Leon (and rooting was a no-go until warranty on all ends expired). The expandable memory option was available and that was where all the camera photos were automatically stored, for example, and we downloaded an app that would automatically put the majority of downloads aside from apps onto the SD card as opposed to the internal storage.

Apps had to be manually moved, however (and to this date I'm not 100% sure they actually moved), and I personally had no option outside of rooting that I knew of (or know of) to initiate this apps-to-SD without rooting.

Thank you Aithan!
(Sorry for late reply, my settings were not set to notify :) )

I've tried rooting now, but with LG Android 5 it seems I'm not able to root it.
At least I didn't manage trying quite a few tools.

So, I'm back to utilizing the SD card..
