LG G4 Verizon

They have it on display, you can try it out, and pre-order, but you can't walk out with one until June 4th.

Their online purchase system is frustrating. I'm on a family plan and live in Boston while the rest of my family is in Baltimore/DC. I can go through the pre-order, verify my account manager status, and provide a code sent by text during checkout - but cant buy the phone unless my credit card zip code matches the primary account holder zip code. Ug. I guess I'll have to wait for it to come to the store - pity, because I'm traveling on thursday and probably wont be able to pick it up until I return.

Would you still be able to receive the gift card if bought after the release date in store. That's my question.

Can't upgrade until after June 16

.: Sent from my 'Android til I die' Phone or Tablet :.

According to the details of the promotion, the gift card is available until July 4.

I just returned from the Verizon store (Corporate store, not a franchise retailer). The phone is SO much lighter than my Note2. I asked questions about ordering online vs in-store purchase vs Best Buy. Since I am still on unlimited data plan I knew I had to purchase the phone outright vs. contract. The salesman said that IF you purchase thru Best Buy (either contract or full price), any problems, errors, questions, etc have to be handled thru Best Buy. In other words, if I bought it at Best Buy, even tho on Verizon's service, all hardware issues are now Best Buys hardware issues. And they in-turn would go back to LG, vs being handed a new phone when purchased at Verizon. I'm sure he's hyping that as a selling point for him, but a good point non-the-less.

By the way, he was adamant that I dump my unlimited plan for something "cheaper". I think they must be on a mission to get everyone off unlimited plans asap.

Also, he expained the new $49 LG 8.3 tablet price only applies if buying the phone either on-contract or on Edge. You can't get the $49 tablet deal if purchasing phone full-price. And I just tried it online also, when you click Full Price, the tablet promo goes away. (I have the original GPad 8.3, still love it)

Whatever you do don't drop your unlimited. If you find yourself wanting to, sell it on eBay. I sold mine about a month ago for $810. The assumption of liability took less than 2 minutes.

How do you sell unlimited data? I wish I had known this before I dropped mine.

FYI, Verizon is offering early upgrades for people who want to switch to Edge. I logged into my account on Verizon's website and was greeted with the offer, despite the fact that I'm not eligible to upgrade until 8/22. Not sure if it's online only, or how long it will last, but I took advantage and ordered myself a G4 in black leather. It'll hurt having to send in my M7, but I figure it's worth it to get in under the wire on LG's freebie promo.

I'm not sure I understand. How do you sell a non physical item?

Just take a look on eBay and you can do it.

Just FYI -- You're not allowed to sell unlimited lines here on the AC Forums.

I don't have unlimited now anyway. Haven't for a couple of years now. Wish I had known this then.

Anybody care to detail out how to sell the unlimited plans either here or via PM? How does it affect your account?? I have three on my account. Thanks

More importantly for those with unlimited data and this phone... have you been able to use FoxFi or any application to allow wifi tether without needing to root? I'm not even sure if there's a root method out yet. I'd be all over this phone if it worked with something like FoxFi and didn't need to be rooted for wifi tether.

I don't have the G4 yet, but should have by this weekend. FoxFi was great when first released, but then Verizon got involved. The last time I tried FoxFi, (maybe a year ago) I got errors messages that the app was not compatible with the service provider Verizon. There were work arounds being posted in these forums, but I was never able to get it to work, and gave up.
So, in my small mind, I think its all software/service related, regardless of hardware (phone). I also may be completely wrong, its a new day.

Where did you get that case? Price?

I did not see it on LG's website

There are plenty on eBay, from Korean sellers. That's where I ordered mine. They are actually a lot cheaper than what the retail in the US will be.

I had the same issue and they said the only solution was to temporarily change the family plan's billing address to my personal address, then change it back after I got the confirmation email that the order went through. Despite doing all that, my bank rejected the charge as fraud and I had to go through a whole phone ordeal with Verizon to get them to reprocess the charge. But, they were eventually able to do so and the phone's arriving today! So...if you really want to make it work, it is possible.
