LG G5 GPS Issues?

I'm waiting on my 4th G5 now. Verizon doesn't even troubleshoot anymore when I walk in. I tell them the problem and they just say, "Let's get you a replacement." I think it's a known issue to them.

Has anyone ever heard of a Verizon customer being able to switch to another phone because of repeated issues like this. I would take a Samsung S5 over this run around BS. I literally rear ended someone in traffic the other day while trying to squeeze my phone so the 3 pins would make contact with the case. Fortunately, I slammed on brakes and barely touched them and they said "Have a good day." If LG was a person near me at the time, I would have punched them in the throat. I hate it when people find excuses for wrecks but should my GPS not been wonky, I would not have touched that other car. I haven't been at fault in a wreck in 22 years and have zero points against my license. If I would have gotten a ticket I think I would have gone postal.

I just called Verizon and offered up to $100 for any smart phone up to 3 generations old just to get out of the G5. They could only send me another G5. They said to call LG. I called them and told them I would take a G4 if they had one somewhere. They said I need to call Verizon. I will never buy another LG product again. I even offered them $100 for a G4 just to get out of the G5 and they said there was nothing they could do. I've seen other people rant about stuff like this before but at 38 years old, this is the first time a brand has burned a bridge with me. I wish I could warrant the time to put up a web page about this and SEO the crap out of it. Then be noisy all over the interwebs. Anything to let people know what to expect when dealing with LG. This is maddening. I'm too old for this crap.

I would like to craigslist the phone but I feel like I'm ripping someone off. It's not right unless I tell them the experience and who is going to buy the phone after I do that? Guess I learned my lesson and need to get back to Samsung. Uggh. I hate not having leverage in a disagreement! It's enraging.

Ha! Guess what? My wife heard me cussing and came to investigate what had me so fired up. She then reminded me we reserved an LG refrigerator to be picked up when our new house is complete 2 months from now... so the contractor says. They aren't usually good with the whole date thing in my experience. I haven't paid for it yet because Lowe's said to wait until we pick it up so the warranty starts at that time and not back when we reserved it. I will definitely not be putting that thing in my house. This blows too because the fridge had this cool window door in one of the doors that I thought was something we would really use. Well, I'll do without the nifty window because that fridge ain't being paid for by us! This makes me feel just a little better but not much.

After dealing with this nonsense--and it is nonsense we're talking about an Android system (a Google product) and Google Maps--for more than 6 months and trying suggestions from various locations, including this site, I came up with a solution on my own. I disabled Google Maps and downloaded MapQuest. Works great. No problems. I also switched my search engine to DuckDuckGo because I'm done with Google.

What are you doing to your phones, been using the same G5 since last August and it's been a great ride.
After experiencing several gps issues myself, I finally gave in and traded-up for a Galaxy S8+. Now this smartphone's gps is rock solid and stable.

I did the fix demonstrated in YouTube videos of putting the card under the board to raise the contacts and my gps is now working. however my volume up button is not.
