Lg g5 vs987 (Verizon)

[Android Central Question]

The problem here is that my wife broke my lg g5 h850 and the priority was to replace without me knowing, minus any technical knowledge such as international variants.

Yes . I'm now stuck with a vs987 and a dishonest wife.

It seems this variant won't work with data connections..
In my research it seems LTE in Germany won't work with this mobile.
I'm unable to ascertain if I can unlock this or use another network or root or whatever else..

Please help a stressed husband

Welcome to Android Central! It looks like you have the Verizon variant: https://www.lg.com/us/cell-phones/lg-VS987-Titan-g5. It supports 4G bands 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 13. From what I can tell on the web, Germany generally uses bands 3, 7, and 20 for 4G, so you only have overlap on band 3. If you're not near a tower that uses that band, then I'm afraid the phone is useless for 4G connection. You can't change the band support, since that's baked into the hardware. Sorry!
