So I wanted to pick up a g6 within the next few months and the normal uk version has no quad dac, no wireless charging and 32gb of storage however when I was looking for used I saw quite a few with 64gb and quad dac and my question is, what does the quad dac actually do? I know it has something to do with audio quality but I'm not to sure exactly what it is and if it will make much of a difference. If anyone can help explain this to me I would greatly appreciate it.

As a person with the G6 with hi-fi dac, lets go over a few things. Its limited to some music players like Blackplayer and LG music player because the DAC is only recognised and used through the "MediaPlayer" api of android so some players like Poweramp don't even seen the DAC and only see the qualcom one. Sound is great from both in both though the quad dac can be considered a bit more airy and represent the highs a bit clearer. Its like nitpicking between QUAD HD display and 4k display on a smartphone, maybe FullHD and quadHD on a smartphone visually. For most people, in reality they can't tell the difference, only few people are extra sensitive and needs that higher resolution. There is also the fact that it has three modes, Normal mode where it powers on part of the dac (1/4), and external device mode (x/4) and high impedance mode (4/4)where it can drive the headphones with even 600ohm impedance without issue.
so if you have really nice headphones, consider the dac to compliment it, headphones the first bottleneck to be taken care of.
In fact it shouldn't be a deciding factor really in your purchase as the qualcom one sounds good too(enough), what should be the deciding factor is warranty. Do you get that if you purchase the 64gb version?
