LG G6 - Camera shots! Show us your pictures

Jamezr seems, to me, to maybe have a bad camera in his phone, or he has something on the lens. Not having seen a G6 in person yet, I don't know if they come with protective plastic over the lens that's supposed to be removed.
All of the shots, in this thread, previous to his shots of the dog outside, look great.

Before I post this let me say this. My eyes arent the best at seeing problems in pictures and I am in no way an experienced photographer nor do I know what half of these camera settings do.

That being said. I put the camera in manual mode and turned off AE-L (no clue what that does) so I could see how the iso and shutter was adjusting. I snapped a couple pics of some cars going by at about 25-30mph and to me they look a little better than yesterdays. Like I said, my eyes dont see some of the detail you guys see.

edit: I took a look at some of the horrible pics from last night and noticed the shutter speed is incredibly low. Like 1/4 and 1/20. The iso is up at 750. Shouldnt shutter speed be significantly higher and iso be a bit lower?

Where these taken from inside through a window ? It looks like it maybe because I see what appears to be some light reflection off the glass.

He doesn't have a bad camera because I was able to reproduce his same experience with my puppy. She was just walking and she was blurry with absolutely no detail when zoomed in.

I did check for a lens film cover and noting is there. The still shots taken with the G6 came out great. Those were taken very close up with perfect conditions with no moving objects. But to be honest with today's technology just about all budget phones can do that. Then there are others in this thread that have had the same experiences with the camera as I am.

But his are much worse than yours, everything is a mess. It will be interesting to see what others come up with.
Yours appear to have been taken with relatively low light, maybe cloudy and a too slow shutter speed. Can you take a screen shot and post it of the details of that photo.
Maybe auto mode on some or all of the cameras need a firmware tweek.

Could you take a screenshot and post it of the photo details of the last of your three photos ? It looks like, to me, that you were moving the phone from right to left when you made that photo in particular and that the phone used a low shutter speed.

V20, quick shot while I was walking.. yes I was walking.. and I saw a hummingbird.. who's wings flap 100 times a second. This is also zoomed in and cropped a bit.

Yep, mine were before sunrise but the blur happens in full daylight as well. Happens on the V20 as well.

I was hoping LG would fix it with a patch since they used the same sensor but they didn't.

They haven't bothered to fix the V20 with a patch in 6 months so I'm not holding my breath that they do it for the G6 either. Heck, it may not even be possible. That 2+ year old Sony sensor may be holding back the performance. Why they aren't using the newest sensors is beyond me.

I just got my G6 this morning, so I'll go out and take different shots and then give my thoughts. My God this phone is gorgeous. But if it can't even hang with my year old S7, we have a problem.

Thats a excellent shot. If we can achieve that on the G6 I'll be happy. Anything special in settings or just an auto shot?

I will do some comparisons with my Pixel XL and 7+ and G6 when I have a chance. I was not moving the phone left to right when I took those shots. These are the some kind of shots I take 100s of times with other phones.

Wish I could cancel my Verizon order. I've always had this problem with LG phones. With all the positive reviews, I thought this one would be better.

Looking forward to your findings as well as others. This is concerning since camera is high on my list of needs next to battery. I don't expect it to rank the best... but expect high quality pics. Your comment on phone build confirms all other comments that it sounds like an awesome build and would hate idea of having to pass on it due to camera and pay up for an S8 when I rather hold off on a possible Samsung purchase until Note 8.

you've had a problem with the camera on LG phones? They've historically been good dating back to the LG G2.

I may have found the issue but have more testing to do......

See the screenshot below
Tracking focus was not turned on by default for me.
I turned it in and did some test shots if the wind blowing palm trees

Tracking focus has been on mine since day one (I put that on as soon as I opened the camera the first time). It didnt make much of a difference last night taking shots of my dog. I toggled it back and forth and they were all blurry. Ive noticed leaving it in manual mode and allowing all the settings as automatic causes the shutter speed and iso to be much higher than in auto mode.

Just powered up my G6 and snapped a series of still shots and moving shots which I'll post later. I have to say, no blurry problems here, at least so far. The phone did get quite warm though, with just a little use.
