Android Central Question

When I got my LG G6, I inserted and formatted the same SD card that had worked in previous phones (Samsung 32gb class 10). It work for awhile and then then said the SD card was corrupted and had to be unmounted. I put the card in my PC to format it and was unable to fix the card. I tried every possible solution I could find. I didn't need the files on the card, just a working card. I replaced the SD card and the new card worked for about a month before the same thing occurred. Why are my SD cards becoming unusable after being inserted in my phone?

Welcome to Android Central! Hmm, that is a very unfortunate and odd issue - I have yet to hear of a phone that damages SD cards in such a fashion. I'd recommend contacting LG customer support to relay the issue to them - perhaps they have some kind of solution for you. Keep us posted on what happens!

I've had the same thing.
SD card cant be used all of a sudden on my G6

lost a few photos on my honeymoon because of this.

No solution found, but interesting to know it's happened to another G6 user

I've lost a few microSD cards over the years, none in my G6 though. I think it's just a fact of life, they are not as reliable as we assume. Also, counterfeits are common, so be careful of those great deals. And always back up your stuff.

I have a friend who had the same issue. I didn't have any sd card problems so far.

Yeah, I'm the friend that lost an SD card. I've noticed my phone is kind of touchy when it comes to memory too. Using the phone shortly after smart cleaning or emptying the cache almost always leads to the phone resetting too.
