I had read this article and found out and it pretty cool for Samsung galaxy s8 that allowed you to control the resolutions of display. The next question is that LG G6 have a feature like that ? It come from Nougat o.s. that gave them a option to control the resolutions of display to order a optimization battery life.

I think the S8 did that on purpose for battery life. We all know 1080P takes less juice to run than 1440P. I'm almost pretty sure it's not a Android feature but a Samsung feature on the S8.

It's something that should be done on every phone. There is no need for 4k screens unless you are doing VR and if you have the option to do it that's a great benefit. If you look at some of the great devices (Moto Play, Huawei etc) that have monster battery life its because they carry 1080P screens. Even with all of Sammy's crummy bloatware the new s8s should probably go a few days with 1080P locked in. LG needs to address this ASAP they have a great phone in the G6 all they need to do is add it in a software update.
