LG G6 Speaker heat issue

Yes the area only heats up when playing music via the inbuilt speaker

Hi guys. I recently purchased a G6 and my phone has similar problem. Whenever i play a game or music or video at max volume. The area near speaker heats up. I already returned one phone back to amazon due to this issue. The new one i received has same problem. Anyone has any idea what is causing this issue. The fact cannot be denied that speaker is quite loud especially when compared to my nexus 5

i guess its normal.....even mine heats up..but not to abnormal degree

the speaker for lg g6 is sealed separate so if water enters to speaker compartment in any case it won't get to the mainboard. the phone uses a 24 bit dac and it can be using more power yet it can not cause all that heat up. i believe the water seal causes heat build up.

i won't give it for repairs, because they would check and mess up the new prone, also compromise the water seal. you said demo units heat up too, so don't worry much. better use moderate volume or headphones.

I just normally play music; my entire phone doesn't heat up at all, only the red circle at the photo.

What kind of app are you using for monitoring? Currently using CPU-Z but I think it only gives me thermal report of my Battery, not the phone itself.

We have two of these phones in our house and they both do the same thing. It is normal. The heat wouldn't come from the speaker, but rather the amplifier circuitry for the speaker. The amplifier is what amplifies the signal to drive the speaker. It is likely located right underneath the speaker.
