Hi fellows,
My LG G6 US997 is still in March security. Is it only me or other US997 owners are getting latest updates?

I think Factory unlocked models are getting updates slower than carrier models at least from my experience including Samsung.I have the US unlocked V20 US996. I haven't gotten an update either. The unlocked versions usually get minimal support. I think they will only give 1 major update per flagship, so the next one will be Android O, which, cross my fingers, will happen eventually. Any long time LG owners want to chime in? Carrier phones get frequent updates, though along with bloatware and sometimes slashing features. I recall my AT&T Samsung S4 data on/off toggle shortcut getting removed, was pretty pissed about that. Also many people complain about the phone slowing down after updates, from my speculation, it's because of planned obsolesance (proven in Apple products).

I've definitely heard about users experiencing what you are describing. It's, in my opinion, kind of a trade-off when you go for unlocked versus carrier-based phones. Unlocked gets less bloatware but minimal update support (usually); whereas carrier-supported models come with the bloat but you have the security (sorry, no puns intended) of getting more regular updates. I've gone both routes... It's hard to say which is better sometimes.
I've used carrier phones for the longest time. The unlocked V20 was my first unlocked phone. I definitely prefer it way more, I honestly hate the unnecessary extra branding logos, going through 2 start up screens, and phones apparently slowing down after updates (trying to push you to buy a new phone?). What I hate most about AT&T phones is that it DOESN'T have the data on/off toggle shortcut on most Android phones, very annoying. Also, AT&T uses their own cheap and crappy AT&T retail boxes, falls apart so easily when you try to resell it the box looks beaten up. And forgot to mention AT&T has a monitoring app constantly running in the background, wasting RAM and data. I'm OK with unlocked and minimal updates. In fact I keep updates off on my Windows PC, computer runs way faster.
What is LG bridge?Running unlocked T-Mobile G6s here on T-Mobile system. On the August security update. T-Mobile has been pretty good about updates so far.
To the original poster, have you tried checking for updates with LG Bridge?
