Lg g6 vs one plus 5 vs honor 8 pro

Hello!

It all depends on what you're looking for! If you want the best bang for your buck, then I believe the Honor 8 Pro is your best bet.

If you're looking for a flagship device that will also come at a good deal and one that is a little on the bigger side (that was a weird sentence lool), then the G6 is a good option for you. It's one of the best flagships out there but also one of the most economical, IMO.

OnePlus 5 is said to be known for its great camera shots, and ratings so far have been good. If you're into taking photos and having a unique user experience, I'd recommend the OP5.

It's definitely a tough choice, as all three would make excellent daily drivers. If I was in your position, I'd take the 8 Pro, as I have the Honor 8 and love it! EMUI (the Android launcher Honor uses) also gives you a unique and very customizable user experience. If you like changing things up often, EMUI's Theme Editor could help!

Let us know what you decide!

Since you posted in the LG forum you will likely get alot of votes for the LG G6

But in all honesty you can narrow it down to the G6 and One plus 5. One plus 5 has a bit more horsepower underneath but the screen is lacking. The G6 is no slouch and the screen is amazing

You can always search youtube. A TON of video reviews and comparisons

Wow I have both G6 and Honor 8 Pro... And love both of them... My daily driver is honor 8 Pro... If budget is an issue I would recommend honor 8 Pro... And if u want a big phone.. And if u want a 1 hand use phone go with G6.. Has water resistant and that wide angle camera is too good once use to that u can't go back honor 8 pro dual cameras give u awesome bokeh effect...

I have all the flagship phones except Huawei/Honor as they are not released here in the US.

I can say this though, LG UX is my least favorite. No shortcuts, complex outdated UX and poor theming (LG SmartWorld) out of the box...this kills the otherwise beautiful device. Just compare to say the things you can do in Oxygen OS or EMUI or Samsung Experience.

And if you do gaming, I can clearly see G6 lacks power when using OP5. I have the 8GB OP5 and its super snap and quick, even switching to apps and games.

All of these phones are different in their own way, so it would be best for you to do a bit of research and watch some hands on reviews for each device. Then you can list what you like/don't like about each one and hopefully be able to weigh up what is best for you.

Why did I choose the G6?

Well it ultimately come down to one thing really as the G6 wouldn't have otherwise been my first choice. That thing was the G6 having a completely flat screen. I'm not a fan of these curved screens or even the 2.5D ones most manufacturers are using these days, try fitting a decent screen protector on one of those. The G6 caught my eye with its flat display and I found myself being drawn to its design more and more.

What do I like about the G6?

- Display. I really like the the new screen aspect ratio, it just feels right for a phone if that makes any sense. It's large but fits nicely into a body not much bigger then most of last years flagships with smaller screens.

- Battery life, most notably stand by drain (or lack of it) is definitely on par with an iPhone. I can leave my phone sitting there and know that when I come back will have only lost minimal battery. Screen on time is acceptable too.

- Wide angle lens, I'm really enjoying using this. I didn't think it would be something I'd make use of, but I find myself almost exclusively using it over the standard lens. It's a whole different kind of photography.

- Overall design. I just like the design of the G6. It feels solid in the hand and well made, and it also doesn't feel gimmicky like other certain flagships. It feels fresh but in a conservative way.

Also bare in mind if you reside within the EU all phones should be covered for 2 years regardless of the manufacturer. The European G6 doesn't have wireless charging either, but with QC 3.0 I think I would choose to charge with that instead of wireless anyway. (Heat, efficiency and battery health. That's for a different discussion though).

Anyway I hope that gave you some idea as to why I chose and what I like about the G6. I can't give you any insight into the other two devices as I've not used either.

Good Luck.
