Hey I've just got an LG G7 and there was so fine horizontal lines all on the screen visible only on bright colors and ruining the experience, eye soring and completely destroys the experience. So I changed the screen with an used but clean original one at an authorized LG service and it has the same issue but less so, the guy that was working there had a G7 too and it's screen looked the same, I'm confused, it is really bothering and I can't assume it is normal this way but I could not have came across 3 same kind faulty screens at once too. The pictures are from the old screen but it's exactly the same way with the same screen like I said, but less.

Hi welcome to AC!

Does it show up on white background? Can't really see them in your photo

Look closer, they are very apparent, you probably didn't see them because you didn't know what you were looking for. On the second picture above the Google Play logo, it is very present. Can't really take any better pictures from those I think, look for it and you'll see.

I see what you're talking about it (I'm on a Chromebook -- it might be harder to see if browsing the forums on a phone).

Those are pictures of the screen taken with another device, rather than screenshots, right? In addition to the lines you mention, looking at the Play Store icon, the resolution looks pretty low. It's supposed to be a 3120 x 1440 screen, so the icon should not look that fuzzy. Are you sure the resolution isn't set too low?

Here I took some pictures of both my LG G7 and 2 other Huawei phones with original 1080p displays.

To my eye LG is sharper but I believe I see artifacts too, I don't know. I didn't aim to capture the horizontal lines so they are not in the pictures, they aren't the point. The screen has ghosting too, so I believe it is original (lol, but really).

I do see them now , you can try safe mode if its still the same then I'm going with a bad screen

I think I can tell from one of those images, but just to be sure -- the resolution is set to 3120 x 1440 and not anything lower, right?

Those images really don't look very good, so I agree with mustang7757, I'd guess a faulty or poor quality replacement screen.

Like I said I just had the screen changed on LG's authorized service(with a used screen though, gotta note) but it's just like the screen from before, soo I don't give any chances that I came across 2 faulty screens at once, can I? And the guy from the service was using a G7 too and his phones screen looked the same, so I dunno. Do you guys have acces to a G7? I'd really like for someone else to take close up pictures of the G7's screen too so we can compare. I have taken 6 more pics of it in different resolutions for better mesure, here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1sPKEQms-kYK3nWXsf3KT4mNU2eDACD-L?usp=sharing

Make sure your not using a theme , no I don't have a g7 , don't they use lcd panel? Putting a used panel is a 50/50 chance that could be same results as you had and surprised a authorized repair center put one . You mentioned a worker had same thing with their screen maybe suffering same thing as yours . You get this phone new and was like that from beginning or you got it 2nd hand ?

I got it 2nd hand but I made sure the panel was original, asked the service guy to check it too, he said tho that the front glass was changed but I don't know how that could cause the issues with a new screen plugged in. I really wonder am I that unlucky or being scammed by both the guy I got the phone from and the service and the service guy, canot be possible. I got the screen changed with a better but still used one for 350TRY, a brand new one was 1200TRY so. New screen came with a new body for the phone too, it was in it. I can't imagine something defective on the rest of the phone that would cause the issue with any screen I'll buy, how come the service guys phone has the same issue. I am just confused, I just want someone with a G7 and a good pair of eyes to confirm it's a common issue with the phone.

And oh I'm using nova launcher, I'll provide new pictures with the stock launcer in few hours, I'll upload them to the same folder, when I send a link it takes forever for moderator to approve my message so, I'll let u know.

Hey u guys there? I thought it served no purpose so I didn't take the pics. Any comments on other stuff?
I did some search last night and didn't see much on the display quality but did see light bleed and auto brightness issues. Hopefully some members with this phone can chime in or if you can try compare it to another person that has that phone .

Hmm, I can't think of anyone off the top of my head who might have a G7. I know @Mooncatt has experience with the V series, so maybe he might have some better insight.

I'm not seeing anything immediately, but it looks like those photos were taken with a standard camera and cropped in extremely close. It can be hard to get detailed screen photos like that, and artifacts are common unless you are using a true macro lens designed to shoot up close.

If the new (albeit used?) screen has the exact same problem in the exact same locations. Then my guess is something like a ribbon cable is damaged, not the screen itself.
