LG G7 - Phone keeps asking me for PIN to unlock, endless cycle. Pls help!

[Android Central Question]

My phone is an LG G7.
I left my phone charging and when I came back to check, I wanted to unlock my phone, I placed my assigned finger to unlock via bio-metrics, then I was asked to enter my PIN for additional security which happens sometimes. But this time after entering my PIN my phone did not unlock instead it kept asking me to enter my PIN and it was an endless cycle. Please help and many thanks!

I can't get past the screen where I enter my PIN.

After I enter my correct PIN, my notifications show and before I can touch or do anything, it will go back again to being locked and then ask me for the PIN again.

I cannot go to HOME screen.

Welcome to Android Central! Was the Power button acting up before this? It makes me wonder if the phone is receiving false Power button press signals.

Something you download or installed is taking over your lock screen , go into recovery and factory reset the device.
