Last night my LG Android phone entered in a boot loop. It will display the round red disk with "Hello" and then displays the Verizon logo with the 4 scrolling dots beneath it. After awhile, I see the green Android robot saying that "Android is starting".
I can activate the boot options by holding the Volume down and the power buttons. Selecting the Boot to safe mode only results in the same boot loop. I already did the Delete cache option.

Thanks in advance

Welcome to Android Central! LG exited the mobile phone market 3 (going on 4) years ago, so any LG phone you have will be fairly old. There tends to be more chance of hardware failure as a phone ages, and on top of that, LG was a bit notorious for a string of phones that were more liable to brick and bootloop like that (e.g., the G3, G4, and Nexus 5X). There may not be much you can do, but if you give us the model number as Laura Knotek asked for, we can at least give you steps on how to try a factory reset.

This probably won't do much, but you could also force a shutdown by pressing and holding Power for about 20 seconds, then wait a few seconds, and try powering on again. It will likely just go back into the bootloop, but it's worth a try.

Update: Device is recovered, OS reports device as LG K20 V
I could not accept that the device was "toast". So, I opted for a factory reset at the risk of losing everything. That worked and was able to restore all pictures and text messages (stuff stored on the SD card). Phone contacts and call history were not automatically restored, but I think that data may be backed up via Verizon's cloud. Will check shortly.

However, none of the apps are restored - this would be expected. On the bright side, this gives me a fresh start.

Before any one says it, I know this is an old device. I am not one for running after "new toys". My old devices run as good as when they were new - until they don't. And for the most part, with less issues than a lot of folks with their new devices.
Anyways, thanks to you who responded. This exercise found me this forum which seems worth participating in.

Glad to hear it worked! And it's good that you saved important things to the SD card. I would just keep in mind that this may mean a higher chance of hardware failure in the near future, so make sure any important data is either saved to the SD card or backed up somewhere else on a regular basis.
