I want to at least root to get rid of bloatware, but nothing I have found works. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, if admin can possibly start a forum for this phone that would be great too!

Model # VS876
Carrier Verizon
Build KOT49I.VS87611B
Version 4.4.2
Kernel 3.4.0+ lge@android-Build
Baseband VS87611A-MPSS.DI.2.0.1.r1-00012-M8926DAAAANAZM-1

Thanks in advance,
Derek Whitley

Unfortunately that isn't an option for me. I only have a Linux system and that only may work for Windows. I know I can go under a Wine session, but that makes it more iffy in my experience. I have a custom OS which uses Ubntu 14.04 as it's base. Any other ideas or anyone have success going under wine to use that process?

If you're on ics still towel root is supposed to work. If your like me and sat your phone down only to find out SOMEONE said yes to the OTA. Then congratulations! You now have a paperweight.
TowelRoot apk towelroot.c o m
Type it in since i can't post links

i have a stock rooted lucid three....i used towel root before the patched it with the update.....problem is that LG doesn't let you go into recovery mode....if you can lemme know how so somehow send you a custom recovery or however that works? i'm still very new to rooting so far i've rooted five phones and three tablets. and i'm still not sure exactly what happends....i've been iffy about installing TWRP on my rooted lucid because i don't want to screw anything up...the update didn't unroot me....it more sealed it in...i guess....

okay so i just rebooted into recovery but is that because i'm now rooted or????? because that was not possible before i ran towelroot....previous to the verizon ota patch.
