LG Optimus S Bricked

Hello, i recently bricked my Optimus and for all these methods, Optimus S Rooting, ROMs, Themes, & Unbrick Methods - Android Forums some of the download links are broke. I just really need help with this.

First off, sorry for the brick, second thing is we need more info to go on! Like how did you brick you phone, what where you trying to install a Recovery, rom what? What method where you using when this bricking happened? The more info we have the better someone here can help you get it fixed.

well unfortunatly i bricked it before i discovered the forums here and did not see "Do not use Rom Manager on the Optimus S." Im stuck at the point where i can access emergency mode quite easily and the battery is dead so when i plug it in, it keeps rebooting its self to the lg screen kind of like a boot loop but when the battery was fully charged, it would pass the lg screen and then stay at a black screen. As for what i was doing exactly, im not sure. i was messing around with the settings in rom manager.

Someone has to have fixed a brick by the use of rom manager. what i was doing exactly when it happened was downloading the roms that came with the free version of rom manager. the google one and the other one (i dont remember its name) I know it was stupid for me to not do my homework before rooting. i just really need to get this phone back up and running. Please let me know.

Downloading a ROM wouldnt be an option til you installed Recovery from ROM MANAGER. Not good. I would advise you to try e-mode to unbrick your phone. Ive never done it but if you can get into emergency mode I think you still have a shot.

You can try using the LGMobileUpdate tool if you have not done so already. Not certain that works in emergency mode but it is worth a try.

You can also look for the KDZ file for the Optimus S and try flashing it using KDZ Firmware Update tool.
I know that not all versions of the LG Optimus (ie - V/T/C/M/S) have released working kdz files, but this is worthwhile investigating as well.

Good luck and let us know you status.

Well. I did the LG Mobile support update and it got to 99% then my phone restarted and now i cant even get into emergency mode. this is killing me.

Thats the method i used. Now im stuck in emergency mode. I can still put it in the regular emergency mode but when i plug the phone in, it goes to emergency mode without any button presses. i don;t know if im getting closer or if im just waisting my time. Now i get a fatal error when i try to install a cab.

You can try this method. It may or may not work. It forces phone to emergency mode then flashes the VD Software. Some people have troubles getting it going. Let me know if it works out or if you need help getting it set up. Alot of people reported problems but I dont think they were following the instructions. I have used it quite a few times and it works perfect. It will restore stock ROM and recovery.

Also, I am sure it wasnt ROM manager that hosed yoru phone. ROM Manager works fine with this device. I have used it without issue. Unless of course something freakish happened or you tried to install the WRONG recovery. There is a compatibility issue with using the Recovery it installs but that is not a defect. The ROM devs here base the ROMS off the old style recovery which uses "amend" scripts. The clockwork mod recovery installed by ROM manager uses the newer "editfy" scripts to install the ROM. So if you install clockwork mod from ROM manager you will not be able to use ROMS posted in this forum.

Well i've tried the kdz one aswell and im still stuck at the flashing lg screen. it allows me to go to emergency mode now but on the kdz thing, 1 it says to go into recovery and i cant. 2 there was an extraction error and i don't understand all that checksum stuff.
