LG says no to Ice Cream Sandwich update
LG has posted today that they will not be updating the Optimus 2X to Ice Cream Sandwich.
Via their Facebook page and in response to a question, LG wrote:

"We will not be introducing Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich updates on LG Optimus 2X P990. Keep watching this space for further updates."

The Optimus 2X is LG's flagship Android device, launched in February with Android 2.2.

LG has still not updated the device to 2.3, with the long-planned update being delayed again.

Dunno if they’re also referring to our Opti...

There is an absolute zero percent chance that our phone sees an official ICS build. It's half-a-miracle LG and Sprint released an official GB build (with issues we may never see addressed in a subsequent firmware update), and we're definitely not getting in on ICS if the Opti 2X, 3D and Black don't.

A CM9 port would really be our only hope, and I'll be close to upgrading when the first builds are likely released this spring.

I believe that is true. The point of releasing this phone at such a low price was to convert the huddled masses to Androidism. That would be followed by the allure of bigger, better phones, something we?ll see no end of as our contracts approach their conclusions.

I think I?ll have have switched to something like Virgin or Boost before then, still pondering.

We're most definitely not high end. Zero percent chance that our phone gets ICS. I'm beginning to think zero percent chance we get a fixed version of GB.

I'm not worried about Sprint's crappy update anymore. Cm7 gingerbread works just fine for me.
