AC Question

I recently obtained a lg stylo 2, it has a internal memory of 16gbs and i put a 32gb samsung micro sd card into it, it shows the card under storage and i can move images/audio/video to it, but it wont allow me to move apps to it.

Same with mine. People told me its because the apps I have, but that doesn't make any sense because it's every single app. There's not even a faded "change" option, and apps don't ask you where to store their files.

Same issue. This is some bs. I've also noticed with this phone I couldn't get rid of some of the icons on the home screens that were there when I bought the phone. Had to install a launcher to do that.

I started a petition on Change.org ... https://www.change.org/p/google-inc...ntext=fb_share_mention_control&fb_ref=Default

I started a petition on Change.org... My Virgin Mobile LG Stylo 2 is a great phone for the money, but from all I've researched it's Google/Android that disabled the apps to sd card functionality. It is the same for most phones with Android Marshmallow 6.0.1. (I've been researching this since June 2016. The phone is great, Virgin is great, but android needs to fix this. Hope this helps.

Hello to all posting,

If still needed, there is a way to enable adoptable storage on the Stylo 2. It does require some knowledge of adb and simple adb commands. Here's the link that provides step by step instructions:

6.0 LG G Stylo Boost/Sprint/Virgin Adoptable… | LG G Stylo

Although it originally was posted for the original Stylo, I can confirm it works on the Boost Mobile variant of the Stylo 2, and presumably the Metro PCS Stylo 2 Plus (I have not tested that phone, however).

Hope it helps!

Having the same problem....had my phone since June and found out today I can't transfer apps to sd card....had I known this I would not had purchased this phone

The above procedure should help with that problem. I know it sucks it was disabled by LG, but the good news is once the files are downloaded, it's not too hard to enable the storage

Terrible downturn. No way to migrate any app to the SD card (it accepts up to 2 t) and only 16 g of internal memory. Confirmed by LG technical services.
Good reason not to buy.

Will this work for Cricket? I'm assuming yes since it's the phone that has the issue & not the provider.
Thanks!

In order to move apps to the SD card, you will need to do the procedure referenced in the posts above. After that some, but not all apps will move, and new apps that you install will automatically go to the SD card if they can.

I'm having the same issue. Mine is a Cricket phone....very frustrating

I came across same problem i actually upgrade from the stylo

I upgradeed frmom the stylo 1 were you was able to do that so when i couldn't right away called Lg where i was imformed that this stylo was does not come with that option.. Thats y it has 16 gb instead of 8 gb which isn't really that much more room.. I think that if comes like that the preloaded apps should not take up any part of the 16 g pre apps should be stored separately... I've been trying to come up with a solution other then rooting my device.. But still exploring?????

Yes....same issue for me as well.... every other phone I have ever had I've been able to move apps to the SD car and now im finding out that I cant move them pn my new phone! What is the point in having a 32 gig sd card when you cant move apps to it.....and of course im very limited with what i can put on the phones internal storage!!! Hoping they will provide a system update and change it soon!!
