AC Question

I recently obtained a lg stylo 2, it has a internal memory of 16gbs and i put a 32gb samsung micro sd card into it, it shows the card under storage and i can move images/audio/video to it, but it wont allow me to move apps to it.

It's not google, it's LG. I have had almost every brand of phone and LG is the only one that does it and it's not just the style 2. I only stumbled upon this because I was doing research to see if this was changed with the style 2 since I like the screen size / price. Evendors their older and cheaper models are the same. I only know this because I purchased some LG phones for my very small kids to use while their tablet screens were being replaced. Nice little phones, great deals, but you cannot use the SD cards properly.

DO NOT BUY LG IF YOU NEED STORAGE!

I have figured out how to do some... If u go into the app on your screen that says file manager.. Then the top left corner, push... It'll say internal n SD.. Press internal.. Press on files u want. It's hard to tell WTF the files r but I said screw it but anyways click on the file, it'll open. At the right top corner, push it n press move. Chloe the files then it'll ask move to SD n u say OK... This is the most I've been able to do if I figure out more I'll let y'all know but if u see data files just erase those cuz u don't need the data cliche. I wanna know how others have change right on their apps n we don't. Maybe cuz we r not phones that r rooted, IDK but just my guess.

I don't think it's the brand of the phone. It's google disable the fuction. If your phone is android 6.0, the downloaded apps from google play no longer support to move to SD cad. For the virgin mobile users or other CDMA phone users, you cannot even root the phone and do it.

Really?? LG took away the function to move apps to SD card. What let down I loved the original LG Stylo so much I couldn't wait to obtain the Stylo 2. I finally got it about a week ago only to find this out. Such a disappointment

Yeah, it is probably Google but they want users to use the Adoptable Storage feature, which is controversial because of some "sacrifices" that you have to make.

LG (and Samsung) disabled Adoptable Storage in their phones making this all even more frustrating.

The good news is it (Adoptable storage) can be enabled in the procedure above.

I did it for my LG G Stylo and an LG G3 (w/marshmallow)

Hey if you haven't figured this out yet, all you have to do is hold your screen until you see widgets l, home screen setting and split screen. Tap home screen settings then scroll all the way down and press hide apps. There you can check off what you want to hide

lol #mansplained

the issue is NOT running out of space due to installed apps. the issue is expanding accessible, available storage beyond the onboard 32GB.

I have the LG Stylo 2 with service through Virgin mobile. I was actually surprised to hear that the apps couldn't be transferred to SD card storage. I can transfer all apps to SD, except for the factory apps that cannot be removed.

Here's the answers to all of your.
Questions: Boom
I've had the stylo 2 for several months now, I have toyed with this phone so much i know it inside and out so I'll say this:
-It's not a bad phone for the price if you know what you're doing.
-There is no way to auto save to sd card and depending on the sd you're using it will randomly "eject" itself, but not really it's fine, noting actually happened.
- Even the camera often asks to switch to sd card when you open it to take pictures. So no spur of the moment snap shots.
- If you're heavy into Facebook and other social media (I'm not) plan on not using it for anything else due to the demand on the phone of those apps.
HERE'S how you make this phone work for you.
- Highest storage factor- Your pictures and video WILL auto save to sd card once told to and are easy to move.
-2nd highest- your apps, especially the ones it comes with you can't delete... Or can you?
Yep, well.. You can delete the data, uninstall updates, then disable any of those apps ruining your internal storage. Taking them from 126mb to 100kb
They will still be on your phone but inactive and insignificant.
It's a great work phone that's cheap. If tuned right it's just as good as a $400 phone. Photos are good if you have time to get the right focus. I would only spend the money on a better phone for the fast and crisp camera quality

Just saw most recent post. My phone updated to newest os android 7. Whatever today and had a heart attack. It was so rampant with error prompts i couldn't get through a text. I actually had to call virgin and they pretty much said we've been getting this a lot and you have to factory reset your phone. I won't be downloading the os update without giving them a week or so

I have the LG Stylo 2 with Boost Mobile. I was having the same problem with my phone, not being able to move my apps to the SD card. I updated to the Nougat 7.0 OS about a week ago. I'm able to move my apps to my SD card now with no issues so far.
