I feel you. I barely touched my Samsung NX1000 in a while but I did see some shots I want to capture with it from using the V10 especially with a zoom lens and being able to get closer to the subject. I plan on getting the Sony a6000 this year and invest the rest of my resources on lenses and pro accessories to really dive into photography. The a6000 is lightweight and matches everything I would personally need in a camera.
True it has become the kinda "go to" career but I think people can really get a feel for those who genuinely enjoy it rather than those just looking to just make money. I think for me I would/will do it for the pure enjoyment and offer very reasonable prices for the content. Some photographers charge sooooo much and I feel like it can get to the point where you're getting over on people unless you're really offering them a lot for the money. I have done a few kids birthday parties and a teen's party. I would like to get into wedding photography as well but I dear not even think about that until I have the proper equipment and experience.
