Lg V20 and whatsapp camera problem

My problem with whatsapp is that it uses the 8 mp camera in taking pictures instead of the 16 mp camera. Is there a way to change this?

For the profile picture? It's only 192pxX192px, so a 100kp camera is overkill.

I usually take pictures of documents and send it via whatsapp. I have noticed that whatsapp uses the 8mp camera instead of the 16 mp one. Unlike in Facebook messenger and hangouts that uses the 16 mp camera of the v20, whatsapp on the other hand uses the 8mp one. Is there a way to change this?
