LG V20 concept renders by OnLeaks

My biggest fear with the V20 was that it was going to be the G5 but slightly bigger + a 2nd screen and from the renders it seems that is going to be the case. Sadly, this will end up being a step backwards from the V10 in terms of design and durability. But will this affect my decision whether or not I buy the phone? Probably not. I really liked the metal + rubber feel of the V10 but I still ended up using a case with it as I do with all phones I buy. So, most likely I'll still be using a case with the V20.

I wish they would have kept the volume rocker on the back instead of the front but whatever, I've gotten used to them being on the side from using the S7 Edge for the past 5 months. My two biggest issues with the V10 were battery life and speaker. If they improve upon those two things I'll probably end up getting it.

Same for me: improve battery life and speaker quality. I really think LG will have the build quality issues solved with the V20 though and not use the same primer finish they used with the G5 this time around.

If the back is rubberized, good. If it's the same plastic as my g5, I'm out. I loved the v10, and if they turned it into a larger g5, as it looks like here, I won't forgive them.

Think about that...
Everything good In the v10, plus the advantages (yes there were some)
Of the g5.
Give it a chance before we knock it down.
The bloggers on the home page are incredibly biased.

Well, maybe just maybe this phone isn't modular? Maybe the seams at the top and bottom are for the removable battery?

Looks like the Nexus 6P and the LG G5 were involved in a head on collision or a torrid Valentine's day one night stand resulting in this offspring!

I think it's safe to say most people were hoping that the v20 would just be an upgraded v10. All they had to do to get my money was update the screen, camera and improve battery life (processor was a given.)

The s7 edge has me missing a larger screen, and even though battery life on it has been great I still prefer swapping rather than plugging it in. However, if this is just going to be a larger g5 I might have to take a look at the note 7, which I really didn't want to do.

I'd like to see even one new swappable friend for the G5 to convince me that LG's still got a stake in those modules. The majority of the friends pictured on LG's web site are wearables like wireless (or wired?) headsets.

If they do "modular" Friends here, but they don't work with the G5, .... 😖😒

Not sure if it'll have a 4000mAh battery, since that was from an early rumor that just seemed so wrong (1080p display??).

I'm not getting my hopes up. Every leak pointed to the note 7 having a 4k battery until a couple weeks before the announcement. If the v20 is indeed a just a big g5, the fact that they shrunk
the battery from the g4 isn't promising.

Yeah, don't let the rumors get you too excited.

LG needs to give up on the whole modular gimmick. Call it what it is, a slide out tray with a removable battery along with that camera grip thingy.

For me, modular add-ons are a cool concept that I could never see myself using. Even if it was well implemented, would people really be lining up for expensive modules that they have to carry around with them? The moto z line handled modules much better, but I still never considered buying the phone.

Others may disagree, but the modular concept was just a feature to differentiate the g5 from the competition without actually being desirable to consumers. It should've been implemented on a niche line of LG phones with a handful of modules instead of their flagships.

I agree.... modules don't do a thing for me. I would have preferred the Z Force of it didn't have modules and gave me gorilla glass instead of the shatter shield.

Sad. I was upset that they had gone to side volume rockets on the G5, I really Love the clean sides and buttons on the back. The smooth back and all just makes it look like any other phone. I enjoyed the rough back and the nice metal sides of the V10. They just did what Samsung did with the Note, and just made it another version of the same phone, only a few things making it different from the flagship phone.

I can only Hope these shots and the leaked specs are all wrong, because if so I'm definitely going a different direction with my upgrade choice.
