LG V20 concept renders by OnLeaks

I like them too as long as they keep the phone durable like the V10 was.

Also, if those renders are accurate, that button could be a camera shutter button OR it could be a release for the back of the phone. Notice the creases are both on the top and bottom of the phone. I'm wondering if that back is removable and that button is used to disengage it so you can take it off. Just a thought.

If you could actually take the whole back off and it's a premium metal used LG may have pulled off some kind of trickery and wizardry. But oh would I love it if they did. To my knowledge the legendary and classic HTC HD2 was the only phone with a metal build and removable back cover. The implementation was manual but it worked.

My old droids had metal back covers but they were very thin.

I really wish they would keep the rubberized back cover like the v10. It gave such good grip compared to all the metal and glass backs on phones today. I literally don't know how someone uses the s7 edge naked it's like a freaking bar of soap lol.

Most people probably don't use them naked which kinda defeats the point anyway. They clamour for a premium design and slap a case/skin on it the second they get it. If the V20 is a metal build I will carry it naked cause I believe great design shouldn't be hidden. I carried my Z3 for a year with no case before I upgraded to the V10.

I never use a skin or case. Phone is already big enough. I have insurance and phones are made so tough these days its really hard to break them with a normal drop. But I really liked that rubberized texture of the V10. I hope it returns. The G5 is a little slippery and I dont like how it feels. Makes texting more difficult due to its slippery feel.

I stopped using cases for the most part but with G5 not sure its a great idea....I've got a Seidio case with a holster and it has a built in kickstand. The bottom comes off then I peel back the TPU liner to swap batteries. In the beginning it was tight and hard to get off but now its a breeze. Nice rubberized solid case....not too much bulk.
I was using a spigen two piece which was nice because the case separated with the chin. Nice but hard and slippery plus it fit tight and I was afraid the case would mark up the body or screen

I use a case with my S7 Edge because of how slippery the back is and I'll most likely use a case with the V20 if it doesn't have a rubberized back like the V10. And if those renders are accurate it looks like I'll be needing one.

I don't blame you.....I might use a case with the V20 but probably minimal and clear

A case is a must on the s7 edge. My brother dropped his from pocket height onto his kitchen floor a few weeks ago and broke the bottom corner of his screen. The fact that he had it in a spigen neo hybrid case at the time really shows why glass is such a poor choice of material for the body of a phone. Even with the jump plan/insurance on T-Mobile a replacement s7e is $175. One of several reasons I'm looking to ditch mine when the v20 is released.

Glass backs are such a stupid idea

There are other insurance options with much lower deductibles. My V10 is currently covered with $50 deductible. I'm not using a case or screen protector.

Which insurance is that?
Protect Your Bubble. Didn't cover loss or theft but $5/month with $50 deductible. However, as of August 1st, they stopped taking new policies in the US.

So I needed to find a new option for my incoming Note 7 so I'm going to go with Worth Avenue Group. https://www.worthavegroup.com/

$899 of coverage, $50 deductible, covers loss and theft, $8/month.

I hope this phone is modular with a removable battery. I've bought Samsungs for the past three years, but they've gone the unibody route and I've read that LG is the last maker of high end phones with a removable battery.

Well sorry i won't actually link this but Onleaks once replied to a guy asking about the line near the top and why not only one near the bottom like the G5 . Onleaks replied talking about a removable back cover so that's that if we have to trust him. BTW is it me or the bezels are a bit weird? they look different from the top compared to the bottom. just different angle or stupid renders?

Would be interesting if LG could pull that off with a metal design.

Probably the renders, since they're a rough interpretation of the actual device and may not be accurate.

It could actually be a removable back that lets you attach different backs
