LG V20 Pros & Cons

I just got the V20 earlier today to try along side the Pixel XL on AT&T. I have it all set up and the V20 is generally pretty good/nice. There are a few things I will have to watch that have been issues for LG since many years ago (like G3). My signal strength is terrible compared to the other 5 or 6 phones I can compare it to. This has always been an issue for LG devices. Bluetooth connectivity is also sensitive. If there is a sudden movement with my bluetooth headphonesthe audio will cut out. This was the same problem with the G4 and G5, but I never see it on any other phones. I seriously think that LG spends almost no time/money addressing software issues. They just throw the same old stuff on new phones. It is really disappointing. You would think the way their devices have been hammered the last couple years and the slow sales they would put some effort into it. I just do not see that much has changed.
Don't get me wrong, there is quite a bit to like and I will continue using the phone for my 14 days, but the signal issue is a big one for me and might be the death knell for this device. I wanted to try the V20 because the Pixel also has signal strength issues, but the Pixel XL shows better dBm readings than the V20. I can put up with the large size, the screen and some of the other quirks, but I need to be able to rely on the phone. By the way, I installed the dark theme and using Nova and another widget pack (like I always do on every phone) the issue with the cool white colors goes away. The dark colors are also easier on the eyes and the battery. I will report back more as I use it.

Wow, sorry to hear you have had issues with signal and Bluetooth. I have had the V20 for the past week and have had the opposite experience on ATT. I have streamed music to 3 different car stereos and use a headset for calls with zero issues . I also have compared this phone to the HTC 10, Nexus 6P and OP3 on ATT and overall it's about the same when looking at signal levels in the same spot. The only phone I had signal issues was the Note 7 .

One con for me is call sound quality. I was comparing the sound of the V20, which otherwise I love so far, with the SQ on my Notes 4 and 7 and so far the quality of sound seems to be a little worse on the LG. Anything to do to improve this?

Considering all the complaints of the Note 7 speaker quality and my experience listening to its mic quality when calling my wife, I'd be half tempted to say your V20 is defective if it's sounds worse than the N7.
I wear hearing aids because my hearing sucks....the call quality on my Sprint V20 is the best I have ever experienced on any phone.

Con: LG seems to have become even more cautious about battery charging. With the screen off, it will charge at nearly 3A. With the screen on, I'm getting about 950 even when doing nothing. If the temps get even slightly warm, it gets throttled quickly.
My G4 use to do this too, but even it would at least give me a little over 1A with the screen on. I think this is mostly an LG thing, as other phones have charged much faster even with the screen on. If you ask me, I think LG is overly throttling the charge rates when it comes to use and heat.

Off the top of my head the auto brightness is a massive improvement over my last LG phone the G4. It was so bad on the G4 I basically gave up and never used it. On the V20 it's been working perfectly. I even ended up removing the brightness slider from the quick settings/ notification panel because I have not needed to adjust it.

Pro - Battery life is excellent, SOT for me today was 4-5 hours and I'm still at 36%, very nice.
Con - I don't find much use for the second screen, maybe I will over time, but so far no.
