Re: What improvements can LG make toward the LG 30???

I agree. One of the things I love about the V20 is the exponentially reduced likelihood of screen burn-in.

I love the V20 as is but if wishing I would wish that the V30 had everything the V20 has plus...

* A commitment from LG of at least 2 years worth of timely Android updates.

* An even more durable build with a better protected camera lens assembly

* A notification LED

* Even better battery life in their removable battery

* Wireless fast-charging

* IP68 water resistance, heck, why not?

* Front facing stereo speakers
Front facing speakers! Make phone audio great again.lol But the single speaker on the V20 is a real gem compared to most phones I've owned besides the Xperia Z3.

Man the battery and 180gb SD card promotion for the V10 is still the best deal I got with a phone. I didn't even bother with the B&O promotion since I'm not a huge fan of in ear headphones. I have a nice pair of over the ear headphones already.
I did this promotion because... Why not.. They are pretty good though.

Exactly.

Re: What improvements can LG make toward the LG 30???

have you tried taking shots while holding the shutter button down? It will take action shots

No I haven't tried burst mode for moving subjects but it would probably help to get a good one in those situations. Honestly I just want to pull the phone out take a pic and know that it's going to be good, so I'm hoping the v30 catches up to Samsung in this regard.

I read somewhere that LG used the same (Sony?) camera that the oneplus 3 did, whereas the pixel phones used a newer Sony module. Maybe LG just needs to update the camera and that will take care of the problem.

An update could fix everything. I just wish they would push it. There has been some updates internationally though. Not sure what it has fixed.

Front stereo speakers. It's nonsensical for a phone with a quad DAC to only have a single speaker. 🔊

While I agree with more speakers adding to the sound I don't think we can really call it stereo

Yeah, I guess it would be hard to discern a stereo effect from two speakers placed so close together. It could be a stereo-like effect though.

Yea I saw someone on here received a pretty big update file that only listed camera improvements in the changelog. Not sure what carrier it was on though.

Re: What improvements can LG make toward the LG 30???

RGB AMOLED display

LED notification

Better camera sensor for depth and low light

Bigger battery

Better tap and shoot quality

More robust camera lens module

Front stereo speakers

Remove the second display

Water resistance (not waterproof)

Keep all the other stuff

Re: What improvements can LG make toward the LG 30???

I would like the same camera res for wide angle camera. Don't know how difficult that would be, but let's make that happen. A bigger battery would be great. I don't get the obsession to keep making phones thinner, I would much rather have a little more thickness for a 4,000 mah battery. I think the screen is fine but amoled would be a little better on battery life but I don't mind the current panel.

Re: What improvements can LG make toward the LG 30???

Sorry but I prefer the LED display... Just like it's more natural look and don't care for the burn in issues. The Secondary display is a great feature to have. I especially like that I can choose to answer or not answer the phone without disturbing the app I'm using.

I love the screen and the second display too.. My eye balls thank me.

Re: What improvements can LG make toward the LG 30???

RGB AMOLED is different and why just now being planned for devices. No burn in issue, natural colors and no pentile screen door issue for VR. Also about 40% more power efficient compared to lcd/led.

More expensive to produce is the catch.

hmm. I gotta look into that.

Re: What improvements can LG make toward the LG 30???

I wouldn't mind the v20 as much if it weren't so damn blue lol. I've tried the comfort mode on low but that looks too yellowish to me. Nothing beats Samsung displays in my book (basic mode if you want the color accuracy.) As far as burn in, the only phone of mine that ever had it was the Samsung galaxy nexus, and that took 4 years. Even my note 3 that I traded toward the v20 still looked great. Not saying burn in can't happen, but I generally keep my screens around 70% and it's never been an issue for me. There's also no with the viewing angles between the two.

All signs point toward LG using oled displays next year, so I'll be lined up for the v30 with 6gb ram a s835 chip and that display. Saw a rumor that they were doing to move away from removable batteries though, which would be my luck:(

My boss traded his Note in for the v20 and it had a nasty burn in. I'm glad that you haven't suffered that fate.. That's good.

Re: What improvements can LG make toward the LG 30???

What the heck are they watchin on their phones? My Note 4 has zero burn in after two years. It stands out awful on Gear VR if the display has it.

Plenty of complaints of burn in over in the Samsung forums.

Oh I don't doubt that it can happen, but since I've had 7 phones with oled displays and only 1 (with on-screen buttons) had burn in, I can't imagine it's a widespread problem. My mom is still using my note 2 and it still doesn't have it after more than 4 years.
