Lg Velvet: How do I dismiss or snooze an alarm

[Android Central Question]

When the alarm goes off there is absolutely no option to snooze or dismiss the alarm. I picked the option to use the volume button to snooze. Didn't work. Picked the pattern to dismiss. Nothing shows up and there is no pattern to be found anywhere. This is quite frustrating.
