easy fix. probably. yer device tree listed has no kernel. either find another device tree and snatch it, or grab a boot.img from an existing rom (cm11)(i assume) and run the vendor script to extract the kernel, copy to yer device tree. if you still get the error, manually copy the kernel to /out/product/blah. maybe start a new thread?

So, im new at this whole, making a rom thing, but i have flashed before. So what im getting everywhere i look is, the bootloader is locked and that's why this phone doesn't have ribs, because they can't be installed unless we're at zvc or zvd or whatever. So why don't we just do everything manually? I changed systemui.apk images and the home lsuncher images, (i used ninjamorph and image editor and did everything from my phone) what's so hard about changing the xml's and then creating a flashable zip? The zip i haven't tried, but if you create a rom from the software on the phone, there should be no errors right? So just create a .tar of everything in the phone with a market app and edit that. Do each app individually and test since this phone Is tricky. if thr app works then add it to your new zip. Then do a test flash every once in a while. This I'd all speculation, but in a perfect world, it should work. And computers are almost perfect. Chances are, i probably won't check this thismuch, but when i do, i'll post whay ive come up with.Edit

with the ascend2 ive ported nearly 10 roms and built omni from source. unfortunately, omni doesnt boot, i believe it should though for the huawei sonic via i used the device tree. anyhow, when i got my huawei, i plugged my viper into the charger included and the home/menu/back/search buttons light up. they flash repeatedly for 20mins-ish then stop. press power=lights flash factory reset(power+vol up(i think)=flashing lights and dl mode as well. i ordered moar usb cords, in hopes my usb cord was just fried and my viper not picking up adb. another thought, maybe since i installed the homeless kernel, if installed the drivers for a device its actually compatible with, pc recognition would occur. idk. when i can revive or replace my viper, i will look into porting some goodies.

hey, if you scroll the thread, you will find the loki.lol the loki'd kernel or the method of loki. which shall removeth the security error. the viper needs a custom kernel. i attempted to build iproj for the viper but it wouldnt boot for the roms i compiled and the stock roms as well. https://github.com/brandonabandon/lge-kernel-iproj
