LGG3 Why is my notification stuck?

The "1" bubble is stuck in the message icon. I don't have a new message. I've tried clear data, force stop app, backed up-deleted messages-restored, removed icon from home screen & out of back on. I've tried every trick I can find on the forums. It clears, but as soon as I get another message...it comes back.

Welcome to Android Central! One way that usually works is to clear the launcher's cache and data--but this will wipe your homescreens clean, and you'll have to set them back up again. Go to Settings>Apps>All, select the homescreen/launcher app (I'm not sure what the LG one is called), and Clear Cache/Clear Data. Now set up your homescreens again, and see if the problem remains.

If clearing the cache does not clear the '1', it can then be dependent on your carrier. You 'call' your voicemail (on Verizon, it's *86) and listen to the prompts...one of them might be to turn notifications on/off. Turn the notifications off, then turn them back off. Good luck
