LGV30 vs Pixel XL 2

Although that's not an issue with the storage speed (micro SD cards easily have the speed to do it), that's only an issue if the phone forces you to use the SD card in place of onboard storage as it was in early Android days and thankfully not now. With microSD storage, I use the onboard storage for application memory and stuff like taking photos while the micro SD is used for longer term media storage particularly mp3/HD video which there is no speed problem to read from

My phone is the V20 and it doesn't force you to use internal. I'm telling what I have experienced. I use internal for applications and temporary camera storage. I am a fan of external storage and feel that all phones should provide that capability regardless of how large the internal memory is.

LG G6 is going to have the curved glass and a glass back. Flat > curved and metal > glass is how those two got in that order. If you prefer curved and glass, then moved them from Pixel 2 to V30 for your list :)

Are you sure the Pixel is going to be metal? I'm not doubting you, I just didn't realize that. I haven't seen nearly as many leaks for the XL as Pixel.

It's the same materials as last year so a metal body and back with a glass window at the top like last year although the window is smaller.

Software updates are the big advantage for the Pixels obviously. It is a rare person who does not care about updates and new OS features.

Except that the Android updates usually add features that were already available on phones, like Doze. I rarely care about different Android versions for that reason.

Has anyone seen whether the LG V30 will support Quick Charge 3.0 or 4.0 and/or USB Power Delivery?

I've read several articles that reference 3.0 but I think it's best guess at this point.

Ok, it's interesting that the Snapdragon 835 supports Quick Charge 4.0, which in turn supports Power Delivery ... but no one is using that functionality with that chip.

Maybe they're using dysfunctional chips

Is no wireless charging on the Pixel XL2 a definite or just a probably?

Personally, I don't think I could give up that awesome (to me) convenience.

I thought the same thing but with fast charging its less important as far as I'm concerned.

The G6 is the first phone I've ever used that offers wireless charging but I haven't bought a charge pad yet

I get it, but SD is an unacceptable replacement for internal storage. It's still much slower, much less secure and it is less stable. 128 + SD would be acceptable if it came to all markets, but then they might as well do 128 without the card.
Not for me. I have over 100 on my SD card. New ASUS is nice 128 + SD card.

Note 8s will be available in some markets with 128 and 256 options and SD cards.

I definitely think 128 or 256 + SD is much better than 32 or 64 + SD. But I also think that 128 or 256 GB without the card is better than 128 or 256 with SD, but that latter is just my personal preference.

To borrow from a slightly different saying, "once you go wireless you'll never go back!"
