I decided to put this in a separate thread so that it does not get lost in the huge thread regarding the 3.1 announcement. Anyway, here is a link to an article I found this morning, which includes the download link to the 3G version of Honeycomb 3.1. I can't really use it because I am on the wi-fi model, but hope this helps those of you who can use it! Let us know if this link works or not, because I am unable to verify it, as I said, since I have the wi-fi model.

Fred, wish I was one of them! lol (although on second thought, I am not looking forward to being UNrooted).

It's pretty easy to re-root on 3.1, the same root files/method work but since we have a recovery now we can just activate adb from recovery and push the su binary along with the superuser app and bingo, root.

That is VERY cool. But now I think I am a little confused.. if I go back to stock first I won't have recovery. ?

You're correct, you can remain unlocked though and then once you're on 3.1, still unlocked just flash clockworkmod over the stock recovery and send the files over.

Gotcha - thanks! So the update will go through if I remain unlocked, correct? I just have to unroot and go back to stock first.

You can't have a custom kernel or any custom things done to your system folder. The update will do a check on all the files to make sure they are still stock before it updates them, if one fails the whole thing fails.

So if you're already unlocked just flash the stock boot/recovery/system images back and then you can apply the update over what you already have, then re-root and do whatever you'd like.

Ahh, I was hoping it might be easier.. but I kind of expected that. Oh well.. Back to stock I go (yuk). Now I just have to find the boot image! lol
