Would affiliate links be a good way for the forum to make money? For example, say the word "AdGuard" appears in a post. That could automatically turn into a link to the AdGuard website, via the forum's affiliate link. That would both make money for the forum, and give readers an easy way to the website of what's being referred to (AdGuard in this case).
What got me thinking about this was a post I made in another thread, where I recommended the use of ad-blockers. This forum (I presume) pays the bills with ads, and with ad-blockers having become so common: That's got to be eating into the forum's money supply. But affiliate links done right, done to provide a service to the reader and not to be spammy: That could be a new source of money. A source which the reader wouldn't block, because he'd have no reason to block them. They wouldn't get in the reader's way, they'd be useful.
