Linking Facebook friends to contacts

I am trying to get my contacts linked with Facebook. I've added my facebook account in the accounts & sync settings under menu. I also upated the facebook application that was pre-installed on the phone. When I go to the contacts, some of them don't have a picture that would be coming from facebook. I logged into facebook and verified that it isn't a case of someone having removed their profile picture. I would like to get my facebook contacts added into my phone contact list and have the pictures show up for those contacts.

You may have to merge the contacts manually. The existing software isn't the greatest at doing this. Go to Contacts > hit the Menu Button > Display Options > Make sure your Facebook account is checked.

Then you can open up either a FB contact or a phone contact, Hit the Menu button > Link Contact > And select the FB or phone contact you want to link them with.

There are apps that do a better job that stock Android/TouchWiz at linking contacts, but I actually prefer doing it this way as I have found even they screw up at times.

Thanks for the help with getting the contacts setup. I had everything setup initially, but then had my phone reset over the weekend and lost everything.

I don't see a Face Book contact option under the CONTACT > Menue, least not on mine that I see.

I also tried looking at the 2nd option, On FB, I only get the "REFRESH" option!

On my Treo, I downloaded a program that logged me into FB, and there was some kind of option that listed ever one's cell number, but my treo is no longer connected

Are you sure your Facebook account is linked to your phone under Settings>Accounts and sync, and not just the app?

Ahhh, ok, Thanks for your help, I added FB and updated , but question, One of my friends who is on FB doesnt have his phone number available via BF, but I DO HAVE his #, but I don't see any way of updating HIS contact info that was capture from BF to my phone, i just have him listed twice under contacts, so, what i wanted to do is EDIT his FB contact info that was downloaded to my phone, but there is no EDIT option to add a phone number.

Never mind, I got it to work, use the LINK feature, ,,
