I called sprint this morning with a problem with my 3g and they told me the only network problems they were having was a nationwide 4g outtage.

Did they say much about the 4g outage, because I'm not getting good coverage either. I used to get great 4g coverage with a nice strong signal. This happened for me right after I updated, but I didn't know if I could officially blame it on the update or not.

I'm another unhappy camper since the update, so I don't know if it's just me looking for ways to blame 3.70 on the problem.

Since the update I keep getting times when the phone will just freeze. Thought it might be the live wallpaper. That isn't it. Never had any issues like this until the update.

Has anyone had any freezes or lock ups or had to pull battery?.

After the update my battery life was crap. So I finally took the plunge and rooted my phone. It was more than a little confusing since I had a newer HBOOT, but after rooting my battery life is OUTSTANDING!

Nothing that required me to pull the battery. Had Sense crash a few times on my is all, but that was due to some interaction with a misbehaving app.

I have big time. I also updated my pri to 1.90_003 and all the radios.

Same thing with me. After the update my 4g quit completely. It just kept scanning and disconnecting. I called tech support and they did a hard reset and wiped all my stuff. Then when it still wouldn't pick up they told me there has been a nationwide outage since Dec 16 that affects people at random (you would think she would have told me this before resetting my phone). When I called my local repair center they knew nothing of this outage and ran 2 hours of diagnostic tests noting that my phone wouldn't return any 4g signal. They deemed it defective and I had to pay $35 for a replacement. I have reception now on my replacement running 3.29.651 but I don't think I'll be updating any time soon.

*edit* I decided to update my new phone anyways. No problems this go around. Battery life still stocks though. Unplugged for an hour and half and at 69%. I carry two spare batteries with me because it dies so fast. Hope HTC fixes this soon.

Dont believe the 4G outage crap. I have found most of the time when they dont have an answer they blame it on an outage.
Everytime I complain about 3G speed issues, they always tell me it is due to them currently doing 4G tower upgrades and the 3G is affected.
They never respond to my response of asking them if they truly understand how their infrastructure works to validate the stupidity of their response.

They are not techs. If you need tech support, ask for tech support and you may possibly get a little better help, but that is rare too. .
I actually had to teach a rep and his manager one night about how Android contacts work and had to fix the problem myself while on hold.


That being said, I am rooted and on the 3.70 base on this rom and battery life is bad. Not sleeping.
I see this most of the time with new OTAs so I give up troubleshooting on it and will let it settle. I am thinking this OTA was not really ready for older hardware though, but we will see as more people tell their hardware version.

has anyone else had problems with the Yahoo Mail app after 3.70? Mine will not load anymore, notification still work, but the app refuses to load. Error every time.

I'm kinda frustrated by how it handles 4G now also. Pre-update, my phone would stay connected to 4G almost my entire 1.5 hour drive home from work. Now, it picks up 4G easily when I turn it on, and then for some reason it's gone and I get nothing but the stupid notification (that I turned OFF before the update removed the ability to) telling me that my radio is on.

At first, I thought it was an issue with it not being able to reconnect. But after monitoring it for a few days, I have noticed that it *will* reconnect - it just takes forever. Now I think that the update just made the 4G radio search for signal less often to alleviate battery life complaints when 4G was turned on.

FWIW, almost my entire commute is in Los Angeles, so it's not like I'm driving through po-dunk towns for almost 2 hours. The phone seemed to be able to retain a 4G signal pretty good before the update - now, it just seems like it doesn't want to reconnect as fast.

Additionally, it seems like my Exchange notifications make the sound twice for one email...

Check your radio version. I posted right above you about some staying awake issues.
I was on an older radio. I updated to the newest and now all the sudden it is sleeping fine again.
I dont know if yours will be similar or not, but that fixed my awake problems. From experience once the awake problems are fixed, so is battery life.

Hmmm. not sure. Your probably right though. I have been rooted for soo long i forget.
They get updated somehow though for non root users or the radios wouldnt be released at all.
I guess each OTA rolls the newest ones out?

No problems here. On the FB notification piece, I think you might need to put your phone number into the FB system for you to get the notifications.

The Facebook notification situation has been covered in a couple threads. Not receiving them is a known thing. The app is buggy. Although yeah you need to put your number in there. It is best for them to work correctly when they finally do get them working right.

Well, out of nowhere, my SD card does an unmounting. There is an SD card in my EVO, but it says I need to install one to take pics, and video. I thought it might be the card, so I put a different card in the device, same problem.
I am now to believe that the problem is with the EVO itself. Anyone have a similar issue, and if so, do you know of a fix?
