List of ROM's, Kernels & Themes

Is there a list of the themes, Roms, and Kernels. it seems like these are all over the place and i think it would help a lot of people if some one can make a list of these in one place. i kno there are some lists out there but i can never seem to find them because they arent stickyed. i am just saying this may help out alot of people

thanks and what is a good fast kernel that will improve battery life as well and i think this should be stickyed for every one too see

Adrynalyne makes a good kernel and JT1134 (links above) has a good one out too.. Both of those run low voltage and work well. I have used the Stupidfast 12/20 for some time due to audio popping issues.. I tried all of Adrynalyne's and they work really well the best for me was the standard voltage (sv) test.

I suggest you try out some and see what works best for you and your applications. I have stayed away from voodoo kernels due to the lagfix issues.

were can i get a superfast kernel and does any one switch out kernerls daily/weekly. or when you find one u stick with it

You can download from the link provided above... It is also available in ROM Manager Download ROM> geeknik Choose one that works with DL09.

I would guess that they are one in the same. I have yet to run across a 'superfast' labeled kernel.. I may be wrong..

I don't remember there being a superfast kernel... but I know with all these names that people have gotten them mixed up and probably called stupidfast, superfast. just a note tho, Geeknik is no longer developing stupidfast kernels for the fascinate anymore....

chris or cory, maybe this should be a sticky, jaekar99 must spent some time putting that list together. its pretty comprehensive. i dont know of another post where its broken down like that. he should also get an ataboy.

i think this is the best list i have seen yet. it lists everything in one place insted of having to look for everything all the time as sperte threads.

which rom, kearnel, and theme work best with DJ05? will the android abusing apple bootanimation work with dj05? and one more do i have to be running a specific rom and or kearnel for some animations to function?

I could not tell you what the best ROM is for DJ05 - it is what suits your desires - browse the posts and see what is included (or in some cases excluded) in each ROM and give it a try.

Any of the bootanimation.zip files will work with DJ05 if you have the correct kernel. You must make sure it is correctly named 'bootanimation.zip'.. Some download links assign the files differently.

From personal experience I really like the Adrynalyne, Blaze, and the stupidfast kernels for this.. Checking each of the posts will tell you if the selected kernel will run bootanimations.zip files. I think that almost all will.

You will need to copy the bootanimation.zip file to your system/media folder for this to work. You will need a file manager with root capabilities, set on r/w (read write).. with out this you can flash some boot animations from ROM Manager.

As far as themes - there is no 'best' theme - what ever suits your desire. I know that DJ05 themes will work on DL09 if you flash the theme fix/hax first.... if you don't.. things don't work right..

I have not read where people have tried to flash DL09 on a DJ05 phone.. I don't think I will try that experiment. I would suggest that you use the themes suited to that build.

Samdroid board

so i downloaded this and moved it to my sd card, its a .INK file, do i need to rename it and/or move it, ive never moved files how do i do that?

i tried renaming it androidpeeingonapple.zip and rebooted into recovery and apply .zip from sd card so forth and it wouldnt work?

Do not rename them anything other than bootanimation.zip.

These cannot be flashed via CWM. They have to be copied from the sd card to the /system/media folder.. The easiest way to do that is to use a file manager (Root Explorer, and Super Manager)... with root access and read/write capability.

There is away to push them to the phone if you choose to use adb.. different kinda animal.

Hi Guys, I want to begin by mentioning how appreciative I am for all your hard work and selfless dedication to these forums and we, the lay persons, trying to learn, experiment and enjoy the full functionality of these devices. Now to the issue, I've had my Fascinate since Sept. 2010 and I've tooled around with it non stop! I've managed to do pretty much everything to it from Rooting, Flashing, with and without ODIN, and yes, I've bricked it twice... But thanks to you guys I've managed to bring it back up and running. I'm not nervous anymore (there's nothing like falling off your bike a couple of times to make you loose your fear of riding). I've been flashing ROMS using Rom Manager and have found that I loose the ability to send and receive text messages with Super Clean. I'm running Blackhole .3 with 12/30 now and it seems fine, but I'm having force closure issues with twitter app and Beutiful Widgets. The Texting issues are present when I use Super clean. I never had a problem prior to DL09 and I'm making sure that I'm flashing the DL09 versions only. Whats going on? Am I the only one or are others experiencing the same thing? Help... Thanks
