On my home screen i have the message app. It is empty (ie, not indicating any new messages). But if I open the app, at the bottom where there are the three icons (one for all messages, one for sms, and one for voice mail) the 'ALL MESSAGES' icon and the 'SMS' icon both have the little green circle with a number 1 in it indicating I have a message. However there are no messages shown on the screen.

Why is it doing that and how do I make it go away?????

thank you.

Mine is doing the same thing. Are you using a third party SMS app like Handcent? I am, and I'm thinking that one of them isn't getting the memo? Either Handcent isn't marking them read (which it appears to be) or the Messaging app isn't getting the message that they are read (which it appears to be) *Scratches Head*

I had that happen yesterday also.

Try reading a few of the most recent ones, that should fix it.

The numberin the green circle is supposed to represent unread content - I get that in email. Are you sure you dont have anything un-read in there?

open each thread in the messages and click the bottom like you are going to start writing a message, try that and see if it works. if not, go in to the notifications and uncheck the message notification and check again to see if it clears it.
