Its supposed to, strange it wouldn'tI just figured it would switch to cellular to send it and not try to send over wifi. Wonder if it can be adjusted by software update or if it's just how it has to be

You could also try reset network settings see if that helpsWell maybe I've found a bug with the software for at&t. Guess I'll call them after the holiday weekend. Lol

Yeah possible , try regular video or pictures see if same issuesWell couldn't go to bed with that on my mind lol. I did a network reset and didn't help. Even went into the wifi setting under intelligent wifi, made sure it said switch to mobile if wifi is weak. Still nothing... so it has to almost be a software issue.
Are you having this if you make a video with the phone, then share it with email? Could the app you 2 are using be compressing before sending? This is done alot. If so, go to the apps settings and adjust it for highest quality.
If not an option, post the app and the sequence giving you the problem.
Thanks. I really don't want to have to use Textra or Google Messages. Call me strangle, but I like the whole vibrate feature when you pick up your phone and have a new message. It's one of those little features that keeps me coming back to Samsung. So I switched to textra and sent them over wifi and it works a little better, the live messages aren't as grainy. I also went to at&t for a new sim card, hoping it would help and it didn't. Did make my data seem faster. Guess its something in the samsung message app and the software. Hopefully it can be figured out soon, for now I'm using Textra.
textra has vibrate toobut I like the whole vibrate feature when you pick up your phone and have a new message
Looks like the new patches helped fix my issue. Now I'm a happy camper
