Living Social Discount Problem

So i was checking out and my CSR at the corportate store told me that since my account is a business account and that the phone was ringing up at $249.99 that i couldnt add on top of that the discount i purchased from living socials sale. I kinda understood what he meant and i figured you couldnt add discounts or promos together. So i was like whatever, ill just get the extended battery for free. So on a seperate purchase the battery which i think was $49.99, they would take my $25 dollar, the part i paid, which left 24.99 left before taxes. This is where it became strange.

I had my CSR and two store managers tell me that i had to have a remaining balance of at least $25 (not $24.99) before taxes or it couldnt take anything off. I understand how i wouldnt get refunded the difference of the promo that i dont use, thats common sense, but it just floored me that you have to use the entire thing or nothing at all? doesnt this seem rather f'ed up? I just told him to forget it about it and im bout to order it via tele-sales tomorrow...

anyone else think something was amiss in this situation? and i did mention to them that they might need to take my business account discount off first since like on the phone you probably couldnt combine them. No dice.

This is just reaffirming what i thought about livingsocial before and how it seems shady to me.

I also tried to use my code and ran into the same deal, can't combine discounts (it is in the fine print,0 but even when he entered the code in, it only rang up for $25 total.

I don't know what's going on here with LivingSocial, but I don't understand why it was only ringing up for $25 and not $50.

right, i see how we either use or lose that promo $25 and shouldnt expect the change to be returned like i said earlier... but i think its bull that you have to buy something over $50 or two things over $25 to even use it although it says the minimum purchase is just $25...

i guess the fine print might be f'in me over where it says "Entire value of each barcode may only be used
once
" but it doesnt say that it must be used completely because from what i can tell it mets the min purchase amount...maybe i should have had them use the promo before they use the paid barcode..i think that might have worked now that i think about it...thats what im going to do with tele-sales tomorrow

It has to do with how the transaction is processed. They basically apply it as two payments of $25 for the sale, but because the voucher has no stored value, it has to be exactly $50 or more. Its a weird limitation of things like this, because Verizon can't process them for partial amounts of the voucher.

Also, telesales won't be able to do anything for you. The Voucher clearly states that a minimum purchase of $25 is required per use, per barcode (and there are two) so you would have to be at $50 or over to use it.

My vzw store told me mine was only worth $25. Not $50.
Is there something they are doing wrong?

I must've gotten lucky when I called telesales early Thursday morning. I didn't get the $100 off a 3g phone to 4g but was able to get the phone for $249.99 (because of my employee discount) and also get 25% off accessories because of the employee discount.

I mentioned the Living Social promo and gave him the promo bar code and the paid bar code. I purchased a sillcone case for $18.74 after the 25% discount and the spare battery + charger combo for $29.99 after discount.

I really became concerned because he was asking for the pin # on the vouchers (as if it were a regular VZW gift card AND also because I thought each accessory had to be at least $25. However, he either got it to work or made some sort of manual adjustment to seal the deal.

My total after taxes and overnight shipping was around $272.

There are two barcodes on the LS redemption form - one is a 'coupon', the other is a 'gift card' - each worth $25.

I was able to use two of the redemption forms (for $100 total).
